Point the first: It's a hugely successful business. Over the long term, they make a lot more money renting out the property on a nightly basis than they could *ever* make off the real estate.
Point the second: The last time someone proposed doing that, the State almost seized the property by eminent domain to create a new State park.

This is a pretty stupid question. They would never do this.

Anything can happen, just look at Boblo Island. I know that Boblo isn't/wasn't comparable to Cedar Point but I bet 30 years if you asked Windsor and Detroit residents if they ever thought that the amusement park would be razed and become a high-end housing development they wouldn't think so.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I don't think they will Close the Park. Why did they buy the Paromount Parks? That was so Stupid to LOSE more Money. I like Soak City but people don't go there all yr around when it is Cold. In the near Future put a Casino there, and the Hotels will be Packed. The people that like to Gamble will get some money back, and there will be more Attedence at Cedar Point.Keep the Park Clean and more Discounts, and it still will be the BEST PARK in the WORLD!!!
What universe do some of you live in?
