Cotton Candy Carts

Pete's avatar

Anyone here know what happened to the cotton candy carts? I saw them on opening day and haven't seen them since.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Or it was a clever plan devised by cp officials to bring in guests on opening day o.O

I have no idea if its accurate, but it was said here that the carts were removed because of the insects. Having an unprotected cart full of sugary goodness apparently attracted too many bugs, so they moved the sales into regular concessions areas.

Last Saturday I saw a bunch of cotton candy in kid's hands. I went to the places that sell by the bag and they did have the $.25 sticks.

Wow, so you're saying no one in foods THOUGHT about the fact sugar attracts bugs when they invested in those carts? That person is officially a condtender for 'worst decision of the year' along with whoever decided the point needs another red coaster, and the person who thought a 'tarp' would be an effective privacy shield for the staging area.

That's just what I read here, Vanessa. And it seemed relatively logical, although you're right - someone should have thought about that early on.

Brandon

I think that idea may have been mine, but I'm not trying to take credit for someone else's idea. They had two of the carts spinning cotton candy at Coastermania, and there weren't too many bugs around them. I'm not sure, it just made logical sense to me. I also couldn't believe that no one thought of that. It's a shame. It was one of Cedar Point's best food pricing ideas ever!

Well when I went up to get my cotton candy by the, by DT, I was talking to one of the workers and they said that they only put the carts out on really busy days like a saturay in July or August. :) *** Edited 7/1/2006 3:36:37 PM UTC by Jerreus***

Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27

Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini

Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-

When I was at Cedar Point on Thursday my Cousin had a heck of a time finding a place that sells Cotton Candy. So I asked one of them, "do you know of any mobile carts around?". She replied with "We don't have any mobile vendors that sell Coton Candy." I just sat there, like YES YOU DO! Well... now I see they did.

I remember buying some on Opening Day... and I remember the one that was right under Millennium Force's camel back. *** Edited 6/30/2006 2:59:59 PM UTC by Keith 2005***

Yeah, we went on the 3rd weekend this year, and there were none. They sell it at a few concession stands though.

It will be interesting to see if some carts show up in the coming months.

Brandon

I've been to the point a couple of times in the past weeks and I've only been able to find the cotton candy at Confection Connection on the main midway, and I thought I saw a bunch of people over by DT with it...so yeah, I'm mad that they're aren't more carts. Nothin' better than .25$ cotton candy and a free water!

Last public train of 2005 on MF!

Jerreus,

While I agree July is "Jusy" (Juicy), I think the month is actually called July.

How you made that typo, I'll never understand.

At Coastermania the plastic netting inside the cotton candy tubs was breaking off into cotton candy itself. That poor employee...his eyes about came detatched from his skull. The way traffic was coming through those things though, they probably did break!

I know when we were there on the 2nd we got cotton candy that evening at the food stand across from Kiddie Kingdom...was still .25 a stick.

I had heared that the reason was indeed due to bugs, and that they were suppose to reappear within about the next week.

The "bugs theory" makes sense. They would not have promoted the .25 cotton candy so hard (at most, if not all of their parks) and then made it hard to find. At least I don't think they would have... ;)

I just love how they won't give you bags for your cotton candy. We went to get ours at the stand near the front of the park, and my brother went over to one of the shops to get regular bags to put it in just so that we could save it for a bit until we got to the hotel. The lady who gave us our cc said that no one in the park has regular bags.

"That's one big MF!"
I <33 MF and El Toro!

Well, that would decrease the, likely already small, profit margin there is.
