CP has proven time and time again it's willingness to invest in itself. Just because you don't agree with an investment doesn't mean the park "takes the cheap way out" all of the time.
You've got to be kidding me. While not always apparent, the park has gone to new levels of "cheapness" all over the place. If it's not obvious something will save or make money, they don't do it.

And here I am again...defending the park. They have INVESTED MILLIONS in the last five years. Almost 100 MILLION, I believe. Cutting cost is smart for them right now. You, as an investor must be bipolar on this issue.
Cutting cost WILL affect costomer service. You can't have your cake and eat tit to...someone once said.

Typo or Freudian slip?

Dude, I was responding directly to what you said. I'm still surprised they've spent money on things like renovated restrooms that offer no specific and measurable ROI.

So when will we be seeing restraints and/or seat belts added to rides like WWL and The Cedar Downs?
The Amazement Park
I hear handle bars on the toilets are out next year in a favor of warning stickers about eating burritos and hot sauce.
Oh, wait...they are adding seat belts! LOL! Who would have guessed? ;)

I could honestly see seat belts on Snake River Falls and White Water Landing next...

Maybe if maintenance were actually doing a thorough job at maintaining the ride, we wouldn't have seat belts now...
You want an example of them not fixing a ride when a problem is evident? One that's visible to guests is the back of the first car on Magnum's blue train. You think that wiggle got fixed all last year, through the off-season and into this year? Survey says!...
They would probably say its just a bad wheel. That's funny because I've seen bad wheels, and that, my friends, is no bad wheel.

Seatbelts are NOT needed on Corky, they haven't been needed for 30 years.
I really dislike lawyers.

And how is this different from EVERY other business today, Jeff?MrScott
True, very true. I must admit it, but look at Disney World. Some of their new rides just don't cut it compared to the old ones. That Philarmagic just looks cheap. The queue is cheap and looked like it was rushed.
Compare Misson Space's queue with Star Tours. Space has the big spinning wheel with no cool robots or anything. Star Tours has R2, C3PO, and the bunch of ones repairing and such. Plus, the tourship goes nuts every few minutes when R2 makes a mistake. The detail is declining there, along with other parks. They're just not doing what they used to.
It's really a shame that Cedar Point is become the way it is. It would be nice to see them not take the cheap way out.

I thought the bad axle on the lead car of Magnum's blue train DID get fixed this year. Or at least they moved that axle to another car...
I know it didn't wiggle when I rode in it this season!
Oh, for what it's worth, one ride at Geauga Lake had belts *removed* from it this season.

While I don't agree with the Corkscrew belts, I don't think they are cheap. They are standard belts, new not used, and I thought the way they looped them over the restraint was smart. Just the way I would do it, easy and it looks nice and is secure.
Same thing with the plexiglass covers on the Woodstock belts. Obviously made in house, but they do the job and look fine. I don't see the problem with functionality (not counting load time) or aesthetics with the plexiglass covers.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
When I went there this year, it still had the bad axle. I remember because I made sure not to ride in the ejector seat of that car after seeing it still in that condition.

What ever happened to the "detailing" on the Corkscrew trains?
I can remember the circular logos on the top of and the Cedar Point logo underneath the front car of each train. They seem to have disappeared.
