Is there anything that you feel Cedar Point should sell that they don't already? I think that Cedar Point should sell those yellow bracelets that have "livestrong" on them, but instead of saying that they should read Cedar Point. Also, I think that Cedar Point should create their own Cedar Point soundtracks for songs that are played on the midways.
a bumper sticker stating "my other car is an 8 ton train" and have a picture of Raptor on it (of course, weight and rides would vary)
CP earrings!
A Raptor jacket like the MF varsity style jacket
Christmas cards
Sell the laser light show, live shows on DVD/video
Some of these items have been mentioned to merchandise and marketing... still waiting....:-(
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
Actually, that laser light show DVD is a pretty good idea, did you mention that one to the merchandising department?
No, it was a thought a few months ago. I am not sure how well it would take and what they could do with extra stock if they didnt sell the item like they would hope.
THey did write down the bumper sticker idea in a little blue notebook and stated that that would work well with MF and TTD also. But I have yet to see any of that in the works.
I would be in heaven if I could work at the marketing or merchandise department.....
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
At the top of my wish list is a big shiny"Roller Coasters of Cedar Point" coffee table book loaded with high quality photos, blueprints, stats, interviews with the designers, records the coasters broke, etc. Some MF boxer shorts would be nice too.;)

WOW, I was just thinking about this earlier today. I work at a place where it is necessary for me to wear a neck tie. (It sucks but I love my job.) And I don't have any roller coaster ties. I really want Cedar Point to make some cool neck ties. I would pay good money for a cool tie with little Cedar Point logos all over it. Or even better, A tie with little logos of all the major roller coasters and rides.
The old west was never that wild. I had the last ride on Maverick!!!
I e-mail Gregory Scheid (VP of Merchandise) about the bracelets and the show DVD. This is what he said:
calendars--daily with a different pic for each day (for those off season withdrawal symptoms) and/or monthly, with a big stellar coaster pic each month
shoot...wont let me copy it...
"Thanks for the suggestions! We are actually attempting to put a "live shows" DVD together that would supply footage of not only not laser show but all the shows at CP. We have also been approached by a few suppliers carrying the yellow bracelets and have yet to decide to carry this item or not for 2005. I am worried that the "fad" may not be a strong item for us as the minimum quantity to run these is not small.
Thanks again and remember the park opens 4 months from today!
I've always liked the idea of having a soundtrack for Cedar Point, especially one featuring all of the marching songs that were written specifically for the park (mentioned in the David Francis book). Sound bites would be neat to have on the website, like the train whistle, audio from the folks in Bonesville, some of the various ride announcements, or even some of the great jokes of the Paddlewheel.
I would also like to see more of the retro souvenirs, like a remake of the stuffed dog of the 70's, old t-shirt designs and stuff featuring old logos and slogans. They started a little of that with the pins, but I'd like to see more.
12 years ago, I had made a CP Monopoly game, thinking it would be a great idea for a souvenir. I included a photo of it in a long letter to Kinzel about my family's visits and stuff. 10 years later, CP comes out with their own Monopoly game. Coincidence? Probably, but it's still kind of cool.
Can you tell I'm old-school?
Any similarity in name is purely coincidental.
I think a Cedar Point calendar would be a great idea with different pictures of rides and roller coasters or park scenes every month, I would deffinetly buy it. The problem would be the fact that the park is only open during the middle year, not an ideal time to but a calendar. I suppose people could but them online or they could sell calendars for the next year, I'm sure they could think of something.
The first time I saw Cedar Point-opoly I wanted to but it but I didn't have enough money left, next time I go I want to buy it because I love monololy and a Cedar Point version would enhance the experience!

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I think the CP merchandise area really stepped it up this year. I don't remember them bringing in so much new stuff like they did in 2004. I think the best was the posters. I really wish they had a poster looking at the whole skyline, from Battery Park or some other area. I think a poster of that view would be very nice.
2005 - Dragster Photo
2002-2007 - Season Pass
I think a cd with some station anouncements and various park sounds from the midways would make a great cd. It probably would be a profitable and great cd to coaster fans everywhere.

MF boxer shorts...just what I need...
They could even have "The Future Is Riding On It" printed somewhere on the shorts. ;)

I'd go for Wicked Twsiter boxers too. What would they say on them though? "break the scream barrier?"
