Park revenue comes from the number of people in and their per capita spending. From experience I would say a family of four staying three nights spends about a total of $1,000 for rooms, food, admissions, etc. CP makes more money on families and people staying at the hotels than the younger coaster freak crowd (I'm one of the rarer older coaster freaks).

Yes that may be, but I had no Idea CP had hotels until 2001 on my first trip. I'm sure there are many other people out there that are the same way. Plus there are people that come that can't afford those hotels, so the main draw isn't the hotels, I'm just saying that there is always a possibility that the hotel(s) expansion is not the only thing since it isn't what draws people to the park.

The FUN lodging while not rot-gut cheap is very reasonable in that area. Breakers Express is the cheapest place in Sandusky to stay! The old Breakers is reasonable as well comparitively speaking.
