complete layout project 07

After looking at this artwork larger and sharpened a bit in PSP, to me it appears that inversions could occur after the mid-course launch and turn to approach the swan pond, as it returns from the swan pond and crosses over the enclosed launch, and as it hops over the "ravine". Something is also interresting just after the famous bunny-hill before the first inversion. Where's the track? Is it enclosed here or hidden by theme-ing? It's hard to tell the picture quality is so low. Also, just after the frist drop and directly beside the RR track is an odd-looking structure of some type.

As it has been stated, way to much work has been put in to this to be fake.

I see 2 corks (already built) and a heartline under the lift. 3 Inversions total.

I honestly think this was a plan by CP to fool everyone following it. But then again I mean it cant be to hard to make a fake. They could have easily put what is currently constructed and everything else is just connecting the supports. I mean come on, If WWL was a waste os space the art that is done on this also makes me think the space is wasted again. The coster looks very dissapointing if it is real. It does not look very thrilling what so ever. Wow a max of 3 inversions and a bunny hill and a tunnel. Wow this is definetly something I personally would not wait in line for. Wow 2 bad coaster in a row for CP if this is the real art work. Besides Screamscape is known to make up stories and this could just be a publicity stunt on their end as well. As everyone has said before we will find out the truth on the 7th. If I am wrong it wouldn't be the first time. Another thing I dont ever recall a project of Cedar Points ever being leaked, so why would the leaks start now?

Good for you. Don't ride it.

Oh, and get your hopes up really high for CP to unveil the "real" Maverick on Thursday.

Brandon

I looked at the picture from screamscape and this is what I thought. The footers in the drawing match up sort of, by that I mean that some of them are off. I personally saw barely any inversions. The landscaping looks fine to me, but I really don't like the coaster layout. If T&T tried to stump us all all spring and summer, then I think that this ride is going to be alot better then the picture shown. I mean, Tony and tyler could have made some one say something fake when the real drawing could be still with them. I'm not saying that that happened but it is an idea. I'm personally going to wait till thursday and not assume anything until I hear the official anouncement. I mean, this is Cedar Point. They were trying to keep this a secret and I think they did a pretty good job at it. They just aren't going to let leak out on accident. They would probably say something about it.

^8th sentence = smartest. :)

What the hell do some of you want? What is wrong with the ride? Is it not tall enough or fast enough?

Jeff was right.

^It's like I said. The only broken record I'm hearing is the one with everyone complaining about the same thing over and over and over again.

The most hysterical thing is all the complainers will still ride it and then love it. The same exact thing happened when Skyhawk was announced. Besides it being short, I don't hear anyone saying it sucked, not do I hear all the "Skyhawk is identical to maXair" people anymore.

Just tune out the haters. :)

Heh.. well... Skyhawk is still up for debate to many.

Just to go off topic for a minute... I can't stand Skyhawk. I'll only ride it if it's a walk-on. The ride has so much potential to be great, and the 2 swings you get at full power are fun.. but, then it's quickly over just as it gets good. It's just too anti-climactic for me. <shrug> To each his own.

Back on topic... I'll admit, when I first saw the announcement for MF.. I was incredibly disappointed. I was in the group of people who thought "Oh, great.. it's just a big Magnum". I quickly learned my lesson on that one, and since, have waited to pass judgement until I've actually ridden.

Regardless, I'm excited for '07... it just looks flat out fun. A fantastic 'new direction' as far as I'm concerned.

I can just see the expressions on T&T's faces when they saw that. ;)

"Just a big Magnum?" You mean, like, with more curves and less airtime, right? ;)

Actually.. yeah. Tell me the first time you saw the island turnaround you didn't think "modified magnum pretzel" ;)

At least I learned from my glaring mistake.. and willing to admit how naive I was. ;)

If this is indeed the true ride layout it does look like it has potential. I personally dont belive anything that comes from screamscape, but I just may be eating humble pie on thursday.

Something about this just does not ring true in my head on this concept.

Mr. inkspot how long would it take you to come up with a rendering like this one, just curious.

I hope you like pie, David. :)

On the subject of Skyhawk I am 99% sure that once the line dies down the ride will be made longer, its not a very difficult thing to adjust.

On the subject of the "concept" art as somebody that has done 3D art on professional software I can tell you that this was made using professional software and somebody spent a huge amount of time on it. I can't say if its real or not as to be honest I don't know for sure but I would be very surprised and impressed if it was fake, somebody has way to much time on there hands. Also there is no way CP would spend the time and money to produce a fake concept art to release days before the official anouncement, thats just silly to even think that.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm pie.

i find it hard that cp would release the layout early(on accedent or not) they keep a good job hiding thier projects. its hard to imagine that this once they slipped up.

im a freak for cp

So? Hey look at the pond there is a second row of footers in the lake. the first footer has no support. maybe a mistake???

Walt has confirmed the image is the real deal! What does it take to convince some of you?

Next Trip: Sep. 16
Maverick: 107 ft. first drop, enclosed mid-ride launch, 95 degree first drop, 70 mph, great theme, 3 inversions, and some serious sidewinding!!
