Commons Internet...

Does anybody know if Cedar Point is going to continue their contract with the free computers/internet connection this year. They seemed to go over well last year. If they did, do you think they will add more computers or set better time-limit restrictions on them. Thanks in advance for any useful light you can shed on the subject.

i wish they just invest in sign in sheets and havesome oe watching durring the peak hours. a half to hour at a time then sign up for a later time- and keep it open all night. i needs my .com fix!
How does the computer/internet service work at Cedar Point? I've heard lots of different stories, but can't seem to get a straight answer. Oh an another factor for me to consider is that I'll (hopefully) be living in the Breakers Rotunda since I'm workin in acoomodations....do they have the same problem with getting a free line out there, or would it be easier for me to get a line out? I don't know how the whole Cedar Point switch board works but I assume the hotels are on a different network or something? Thanks for any help!

there is the rec center where there are like 5 computers. you are supposed to have like a half hour at a time. but that never happens. youusually have to wait an hour just get on. then in the lobby over at commons and cedars there are pay computers. and there is always the ibary down town, just call and you can have an hou a day. i am not sure of the rotonda. and sometimes getting a phone line out can be irrating. after the park closes. everyone is on calling home, pizza, or online!
If you have Nextel, you can connect your computer to your phone. That is what I am doing while I am out there.

I'm curious as to how you exactly "get a line out" for a computer. My cousin is going to let me use his laptop while I'm up at CP, but I'm wondering if it's worth bringing. I do talk to a lot of people through the internet though.
There are only a certain number of phone lines that are available for usage in the dorms, so if they're all tied up when you try to connect to the internet, you'll just get a busy signal. You can keep trying until you get through, but sometimes that can take a while. It's easier to get through during the day when everyone is at work, so if you're working nights, you shouldn't have a problem connecting before you go to work. Most people are back late at night so it's harder to get through after like 8-ish. Make sure you have somewhere safe to lock up the laptop when you're not using it, especially if you don't know who your roommates are!

Back to the Breakers this summer! :)

The only problem that is really going to start causing major problems are the people who keep their computers connected to the Internet all the time. I think this is unfair to the other employees who actually need to make phone calls or what not. Just my 2 cents.

I read somewhere that if you brought your own PC with a NIC in it you could hook up to the internet via the network....is this not true anymore?

Besides the great rides and being the best of everything, the best part about Cedar Point is that it isn't Six Flags! YAY!
