I saw that Sunday 10/9 was close to a full hours day, one of the only sunday ones in the fall. I'm guessing that means it gets somewhat crowded that day, or since its a Sunday and in the fall, it will still be somewhat slower? Just wondering, thinking of making a trip out for that day.
In 2009, that Sunday was a ghost town. In 2010, that Sunday was very crowded. It is pretty much a hit or miss.
Or possibly, by 2010 the word had gotten out about how empty the place had been the previous year, so everybody went. Just putting that out there for argument's sake...

It's pretty hit and miss and generally weather dependent, as are most Halloweekends days. You get the added bonus of a couple extra hours though, and it's the first Sunday the outdoor attractions are open. :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I went this past Fall. I went on Columbus Day Weekend. Stayed at the Breakers on October 8th. I heard from some of my friends that worked in rides last summer that there was an Employee Parking Ban that weekend.
There sure was. We all had to take the bus which made a lot of people late because they only ran 2 employee buses every time we had a parking ban. It is ridiculous. However, if you woke up early enough and knew the secret way to get to the park without being turned back around by the person at the toll booths, that always worked out best because you would be super early enough to grab breakfast at the caf before starting work (which the caf's breakfast is amazing, just saying)
This past summer, the weekend after Labor Day weekend sported a very empty park.
