I am graduating college this May with a degree in Business Administration. My mom doesn't really like the idea that I am returning to Cedar Point for another season now that I have a college degree. In fact, she hates it. Her reasoning is "we didn't spend all this time and money on school for you to go work at an amusement park for hourly pay" My thing is...I want to work in the amusement park industy and this is one way that I can get good experience, and maybe, move up at CP. I could see if I was going back as a regular red tag, but I'm going back in leadership!
I just want to know if there are any other college graduates that are working at CP or am I the only one making this type of decision????

I graduated college right before starting to work at the Point but my situation is a little different. I had planned on going to Grad School so I just wanted to do something during the summer.
Before the summer was over I had been offered and accepted a full time job. It was a unique situation but the company is much bigger than when I worked there so depending on your experience and standing and the networking you do while you are there it isn't impossible to stumble on something full time.
But, I will say this: There are times when I regret not just going back and getting my Masters. It is tough to go back to school once you've been out for a while.
Good luck.

I have my college degree (a BA in Political Science from CWRU), and I am returning to Geauga Lake to be the TL of the Bellaire Triangle (Monorail, Skyscraper, El Doralo).
In Park Ops training this past weekend, when we introduced ourselves, one of the things we had to say was why we were working at Geauga Lake. I started off that part by saying it was because I had a political science degree.
What I am doing, is working at the park until I can find a full time job. Bill Spehn knows I am looking for full time work, and so does the Rides Manager.
You are not alone. Also, it is good to hear the I am not alone.
Now how I will pay off about $52,000 in college loans...
