Cold food at the Burger Patio 8-27

Hopefully Tony reads this...

Not only was my burger cold, it was burnt. Cold waffle fries too.

They need to know, I did send a short email to the park....

Tony isn't... oh, never mind.
Did you eat this unsatisfactory meal?

Stick them on the pavement for a few minutes to heat it to perfection.

I did let the park know.

Yes I ate the swill. I was drunk, hungry enough to eat the ass out of a seagull and knowing that I would get no where with the two internationals.

I am horrible with names in general but especially with water park slides, food stands and strip malls. Where is Burger Patio?

Burger patio is supposed to have actual flame grilled burgers, instead of flat grilled. It's been disappointing for the last few years.

It's located next to raptor on the main midway facing the front of the park with the big umbrellas over tables.

I hope you took the food back to the food stand and asked for hot food. They will replace the items.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

No, he said he was too drunk to deal with foreigners or to think of anything like that.
Keepin it classy.

I was my neighbor's unofficial tour guide last Saturday. (Yes, they wanted to go on a Saturday, in August) She and her daughter wanted, more than anything, Cheese on a Stick. Not much of a line at Corral, but the disappointment was readily apparent when the first bite, after warning of the hot magma, was nearly frozen.

Before we left the counter, I told the cashier to exchange them for freshly made ones. She did. I saw her drop them in the fryer, and even these came out refrigerator cold, not frozen, but cold.

Have they changed the way they make the Cheese on a Stick? I haven't had one in a few years, but I remember the melty goodness and the size was a lot larger than the dog on a stick. These looked like corn dogs, but with cheese.

I don't know but I love just about any kind of cheese. From snobby wine and cheese to Aldi "cheese food product". I tried that cheese in a stick thing last year and even tried a third bite to make sure. Nope! I can't even identify what type of cheese it is trying to impersonate. Must be a reject from the basement labs of Monsanto.

Somewhere early in the midst of raising two children from birth as a stay at home dad, I developed an intolerance for food that isn't hot. Perhaps I ate too many cold meals while taking care of my children first, but even now that they are older, luke-warm or cold food sends me into a mad rage (on the inside).

I learned early on not to eat food at the park. It's rarely hot. Sure there are exceptions but on the whole, it's generally made several minutes in advance and left to sit until someone orders it up. This is especially true at the food stands.

The only time I'll ever order food from a food stand is my once-a-year fry order at the point. And even then, I wait until there's a crazy busy line, to ensure high food turnover and nothing sitting out for more than a minute or two at most. I eat french fries once a year at most, and gosh darn it I'm not eating cold, soggy ones.

Nasty. I could never understand the hype over Cheese on a Stick. To everyone their own I guess.

Cheese-on-a-stick is the reason I go to the county fair every year. The version at Cedar Point will always be disappointing.

Maverick since '99

At our state fair, and other select festivals around the area, we have a trailer called Steak on a Stick/Cheese on a Stick. The cheese is the best ever, Swiss with a light tempura-style batter. Not corn-doggy. Hot and melty. I'm permanently ruined for cheese and won't try CP's or anyone's anymore.

I disagree. The only time I've had seriously sub par food (including a cold burger at Burger Patio, after waiting in line for about 20 minutes) is at the tail end of the season, when the regular staff have been replaced with not-yet-well-trained end of year staff.

And perhaps aside from very early in the season, food has regularly been served hot, even if not always of the highest quality.

Brandon

I'm gonna bust in here with my Cheese on a Stick story from this year...I've never had one of those. Didn't even know what the hell it was. So since my gf and I are both cheese lovers, we snagged one up to share. After walking away from the stand and each trying a bite, we had to immediately turn around and go grab another. I don't know if I'm missing out on some of your local "fair" versions of this thing, but we thought it was fantastic for what it was.

And admittedly, we didn't eat a whole ton of park food this year (made trips into Sandusky etc.), the items we did have weren't cold. If they were, I'd like to think I would've just politely asked for it to be replaced, instead of complaining about it on a message board, and using drunkenness and xenophobia as an excuse.
