Code Broken

I realize that there is a lot of competition between SFMM and CP. However, I can guarantee that CP's agenda for the addition of attractions would remain unchanged if SFMM had added 5 new coasters this year. CP is on its own schedule and they knew last year that they were in danger of losing the record whether they want to admit it or not. If they were really concerned about the record they would have added something this season to keep the record.

TCKR - I agree completely. I think that the rivalry between CP and SFMM is just that -- a rivalry. They aren't out to beat one another, because the majority of their guest base is from totally opposite sides of the country and whatever they do really isn't going to have a great affect on the other park. It's publicity, pure and simple, and each park has their own agenda to work with. It's only themselves their trying to beat, not each other.

They didn't add a rollercoaster this year because they wanted profits to build up so they can bring us another record breaker for the 2002 season. Cedar Point builds a coaster, Waits and lets money build up then they come back and add a huge coaster, break all kinds of records, and shock everyone.
