Coasters with Airtime?

Kyurthich's avatar

^^ Magnum hands down has the most airtime in the front.
If I am not mistaken it is 1-2 correct?

Ejector seat will cause you pain sometimes... even more so if the trim brakes are off!

I loooooooove the 3rd hill on Magnum. Goodness talking about this makes me want ride it so bad! Is opening day here yet?

I still like the reverse ejector seat better then 1-3. It gives air on the way down (instead of the crest,) it gives you air on the first drop and it has a whole lot more leg room.

Leg room! That is what I am talking about, looking at what seat has the most leg room is always something I do. The metal box on the floor takes away from the leg room in that seat.
On Millennium I always try and get the back of whatever car I am sitting in, it does not have that bar right there, that rubs my knee's the whole time.
With Magnum the line is usually pretty short so I try and take a ride in every seat!

Riding in the back of Magnum, to me, seems like a completely different experience than riding in front

Agreed, I tried the front for the first time last fall and I was bruised for a month.

I'm going out to get some air.

As others have said, Jack Rabbit without a doubt has the craziest airtime on any coaster I've been on, and it's only on the one double dip drop. The back row feels like you're going to get catapulted halfway to downtown Pittsburgh.

Shivering Timbers at Michigan Adventure has good airtime.

I think Magnum in the first row of the last car was awsome. I do agree that Blue Streak has decent Air Time. I also agree with Maverick coming down off the hills you witness some good air time. As for Millenium, I think the air time is good, but it is only "floating" and I prefer "Ejector". I do agree that Steel Force is good but it does not have the Ejector airtime of Magnum. I've rode Phantoms Revenge on numerous occassions and thought the airtime on there was crazy for being mostly Morgan now (as of this year, the station and lift is Arrow).

I think the ride with the best airtime is Magnum.

10 Wildcat TL
09 Monster/ Witches Wheel - TL
08 Mean Streak
07 Monster/ Witches Wheel

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!

Save The Big Dipper!

I heard Diamondback has beat out Voyage for the coaster with the most airtime.

I haven't experienced any airtime on Mille, besides a little floater on the last bunny hop by the station.

I know that Magnum has great airtime! I used to love the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake! I had a necklace on that my son had won me and I didn't think to tuck it in and the little charm floated and hit me in the mouth! Good times! I can't wait for more this year!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

^^ I don't think Diamondback has enough hills/changes in direction to have more airtime than Voyage, but I guess we'll see in a few days.

Diamondback has 30 seconds of airtime.

Voyage has

Therefore Zach was right. :)

MF disappointed me with the backseat "airtime"

Maverick more than delivered (I ride back seat exclusively now)

TTD was nothing in the back seat.

WT in the FRONT seat packs a great punch going BACKWARDS through that twist

Honestly, Cedar Point doesn't have many good BACKSEAT coasters, but I've been all over the place. SFNE's Superman (or whatever its new name is) is a great backseat coaster. They also have a ride there called the Cyclone which is an absolute wreck of a woodie, but tons of fun in the back seat. SFGA has the king of all backseat coasters, El Toro, as well as Nitro.

And the Comet has okay airtime for me, its at what I would consider my "home" park

Hope you don't mind me popping in...

Voyage's record stands...as its claim is it has the most airtime of any wooden coaster.

Last I checked, there's no wood on Diamondback. :0)

Thanks,

Was "wooden coaster" in there when I posted the link?

That's the point. From day one, Voyage's claim has been most airtime on a wooden coaster. So, in fact, Diamondback has not beat out Voyage, because Diamondback cannot hold a wooden coaster record. And, in reverse, there has never been a claim that Voyage had the most airtime of any coaster.

Debating the minor details of coaster geekery on my day off. Might as well sign me up for ACE!

My bad. That was my point in the first place. I thought it said most airtime of any coaster. If I knew it said wood then I would never had brought it up. Sorry.
