CoasterMania! is Friday, June 6 and is open to current members of valid, approved coaster clubs. For a complete list, check here: https://www.cedarpoint.com/coastermania
1. Registration takes place at the front gate only – this means NOT at the Marina Gate, Resort Gate or Beach Gate. If you are staying at the hotels on property, you can catch a shuttle (at the RipCord/Challenge Park/Soak City stop) that will take you to the front gate beginning at 6:00 a.m. Shuttles will run continuously. Please only enter through the front gate.
2. The CoasterMania! Cruise – Enjoy a FREE, 45-minute cruise on the Jet Express and absorb the breathtaking views of Cedar Point from the water! Grab your cameras and get ready to see our park like you’ve never seen it before. Other cruises go PAST the park. This one’s going all the way around the Cedar Point Peninsula so YOU can get the best shot of America’s Roller Coast. Several cruises will depart from the Cedar Point Marina throughout the afternoon and evening. Limited availability. If you are interested in going on the cruise, you must pick up your ticket at morning registration at the front gate only. Tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all tickets are given out, that’s it!
3. The Mean Streak Challenge – Want to win a 2015 Platinum Pass? You can during The Mean Streak Challenge! What is it, you ask? All we know is that it involves riding Mean Streak - and a few “other” surprises to go along with your ride. If you are interested in participating, you must be at the Mean Streak entrance by 9 a.m. on Friday, June 6. Limited availability on this contest. Full rules will be posted at the ride entrance.
4. Tony promises that there are other surprises to come!

Count me as excited about the free cruise around the park! Was this announced previously and I just missed it or is it a new addition?

These are new announcements. Tony had teased, Friday I believe, that there was more to come out about CoasterMania. Seems like this is just the start.

I'll definitely have to bring my DSLR out for that cruise. Gotta get some scenic shots of my home away from home. :)
Does the 6am figure in post #1 also apply to when the tollbooths will open to let parking lot cars in ?

^ I would say yes, because why would you need to get to an event with not that many people over an hour before registration begins? That's my feeling on it.
What I want to know is how many cruise tickets will be available. It would help gauge just how close to 6AM I would need to arrive. :)
This will be our first Coastermania. How well attended is it usually? I was thinking of getting to the parking lot around 6:30. Will I be woefully late? LOL
Confused about the Mean Streak Challenge. Mean Streak isn't on the list of ERTs that morning or in the evening.
I'm confused. The CM agenda on the CP site states that registration opens at 7AM.
Then it mentions 6AM later.
Which is it?
6:00 AM is when the shuttles will begin operations from the resorts to the front gate. Presumably, the parking lots will be open around the same time. 7:00 AM is when registration begins.
Any chance non-resort guests could catch the shuttle from the back lot? :)
Very well attended. The lunch crowd broken into 2 groups means they're expecting high coastermania attendance.

The picnic was a disaster last year, from the standpoint that the lines were waaaay too long with it being everyone at once, and it also sounds like they are doing the giveaway (jacket, or whatever it is) at registration, not bogging down the picnic with it. That was just like the longest single file line I have ever seen that wasn't for a ride.
Hopefully this does help speed up the lunch lines a bit. Moving the giveaways to registration, if that's the case, will unfortunately only bog down that section.. Hopefully they have registration setup like last year so there are several lines.
Well, not everyone registers at once, because people don't all get there at the same time. Unlike the picnic, where the (mostly) ungrateful masses gather to stuff their faces (and pockets, yes) with free food, and in more than one case, multiple give-away items (I saw several people grab extra jackets last year).
It must be quite interesting to be the person planning food quantities for this event. Most people I saw ate enough to feed three people, and then grabbed 10 cookies or so for their pockets on the way out.
