Coastermania 2009

I'm a little concerned about this years ERT. Without more 
rides open at one time, won't most of the 1000-2000 people 
attending the event just be in line for that one particular
ride? If that being the case, then won't the wait be no 
different than a normal day? Perhaps we could ask for more
rides to be open to spread the population across the park?

If Wings VS Pens goes to game 5, we are going to have a party at Game Day Grille Saturday night at 8!

Dave also forgot to mention the one (or 2) people every single year at CMs Q&A who does nothing but complain about something no one else cares about.Funny thing was one of these guilty parties stood up at KIs Ride Warriors Q&A a couple weeks ago, and as always had some mindless complaint about something.

Apparently I wasn't the only one who knew who this guy was, as soon as he stood up to talk, tons of people moaned :(

I'd be willing to bet this same guy is at Holiday World this weekend but lucky for Paula and crew they don't have a Q&A.

I hate to be the downer but, what is going to happen with Millennium Force ERT now that it looks like it will be down for the count for a while?

^Maybe they'll fill it with the coaster with the next highest number of votes.

If the Wings go to game 5, everyone where I work will be pi**ed at me if we win cause we do all the dasher boards and advertisements at Joe Louis Arena as well as all the graphics for the victory parade floats. I wasn't there for the parade last year as the parade was on that Monday and I was at Coastermania and Indiana on Sunday. So all the guys I work with ended up working from 8 am sat to 5am Monday staight to get the floats ready!

However I've had Coastermania called off since January so I have an excuse.:D But from what we have been told, we would have to sweep Pittsburgh for the parade to be coastermania weekend or that monday. If we last though to game 5, it'll happen during the week.

I guess we're supposed to hear from Ron Toomer again, who has been retired as President of Arrow Dynamics since before he presented at CoasterMania 1999. I wonder what he hinks of the current state of the art. And given his unequivocal comment in '99 about the impossibility of building a 300' coaster at Cedar Point, I really wonder what he knew, and when he knew it... :)

I was at KI on opening day with a few members here, and there was a gentleman at the end of the night who was doing nothing but complaining to an area supervisor about literally nothing. I'm willing to bet he's one of "those few" at the Q&A's.

I hope Mr. Toomer's presentation goes well.

All "that guy" does is complain. He loves to act high and mighty just because he had a certain position at a certain Cedar Fair park for 1 year and thinks he's the shiz. So he finds any supervisor he can find wherever he is to play the Simon Cowell of amusement parks. I'd prefer he crawl in a dark corner somewhere.:)

And he wasn't at last years Q&A so I'm hoping the same will be for this year.

Well I'm safe to say its not me, I have never worked at a Cedar Fair Park!

Agg =( Millenium has been my first ride at Cedar Point for several years now (morning ERT). I will definitely be completely disappointed if I am not able to ride it at all over the course of CoasterMania =(

For financial reasons, I had actually decided to skip CoasterMania this year, but decided I simply couldn't imagine going a whole year without riding Millenium and Dragster! I'm skipping CF and BG season passes this year, so this may be my only amusement park trip for the season! Thus the "agg" lol. You simply can't beat Millenium (at least for me, with the parks I have "easy" access to)...

For anyone that may want it, I made a pdf of the schedule for Coaster Mania 2009, The only thing is that the ERT 3 on my list is still in question of the ride.

I'm too lazy to read thrue the 6 pages, but do you have to pre regester for coastermania?

I am also bringing a friend with me.

I am a season pass holder and a coaster club member.

I know they are selling tickets online, but will they be selling them and the drink wristbands at the gate as well?

All I know is that you don't have to pre-register if you are a season pass holder, you can just pick up all your stuff up at the gate. In terms of the other person if they are a season pass holder also then it doesn't matter either. If they are not a season pass holder also I don't know.

Is the registration only at the front gate this year?

I know my friend is buying there ticket online that includes the drink wristband, and wants to know if they get the band at any entrance.

Saturday Night, Game 5 Pens VS Wings, 8pm, Game Day Grille, Red Wings Fans only (Pens can get one small corner...) Be there!!!

Survey completed. The only thing that I wasn't too fond of was the Maverick ERT. We were barely able to squeeze 2 rides in, because it was the only ride running during that slot. Other than that, CoasterMania was a fantastic event and I'm definitely planning on coming again next year.
