CoasterMania 08'

I am interested in meeting up with some people for Coaster Mania, but don't know how to coordinate meeting at Cedar Point.

You tell us what corner you stand on and than we pick you up.

Just kidding.

Set a time around the park somewhere....wear a sign, let us know what you're wearing or something....

Well there'll be a general group at a table for the lunch so keep an eye out for said table.

I'll be there for the whole day (maybe Soak City in the afternoon) If anyone is getting or has gotten a room and would like a roommate to split the cost, PM me. 2 years ago, I drove to and from Cleveland in addition to spending the whole day at the event. I don't want to ever do that again.

^Im trying it this year from Toledo. As Ive said before though, a nap is an absolute on the schedule. Mainly Im excited to go because I always seem to short change Raptor due to its location (I go on it about once a trip, has been years since Ive gone on it more then once a trip) and Ill be able to do this and have time to have some good rides on MF in the morning (Maverick can wait till Resort ERT as far as Im concerned, I enjoy the ride, but not as much as the two listed previously.) Then we have the Q&A that sounds interesting and the free food (never a bad thing) before the night ERT, I rarely am able to get a night ride on Gemini (I want it racing, and it doesnt race at night unless its Halloweekends normally) and of course some serious riding of Magnum will be had (Im sure Ill grab a ride on TTD assuming the lines not long, but again Magnum is priority #1, Gemini #2.)

I plan on "roughing it" at Camper Village. An afternoon nap
will most likely be on my agenda as well.

Sorry to say that I will not be at the park at all this weekend. After calling around to local hotels, it sounds like it may be a busy weekend with all the enthusiasts, and I guess there is a bike rally as well.

Instead I will be spending Saturday at Indiana Beach, and Sunday at Michigan's Adventure. Not quite CP, but each has their own things that set them apart.

Have a great time this weekend everyone!

Josh, we have room at the hotel that Mark reserved (Paul had to drop out). Is there anyway to convince you to come?:)
The reason being that I too want to go to MiAdv and would love to be with a group (I remember a bunch of us talking about it a while back).

Josh was planning to be there on Sat/Sun...so that wouldn't work Adam.

Mark is right. We were going to be at CP Sat and Sun. Now we are going to IB on Saturday, and MiA on Sunday. You are free to join us either day if you want. Just PM me if you are interested.

I think I might be dropping out on CoasterMania this year as well. Getting off work at 7 in the AM, then spending that looong day at CP, just doesn't seem like a lot of fun to me, afterall.

That's too bad Josh, but totally understand.

Meeting at lunch could work. However, I would be a little concerned about meeting then since lunch is an hour and a half long. Would you want to plan a specific time at lunch, or meet at the Q/A? Would someone be willing to PM me a cell number?

I sent you mine. If you don't see us in the morning before the gates open, feel free to call me.

Ok, I understand Josh. I think I'll join you guys for the sat/sun trips. I need to extend my ride/park count anyway.:)

As long as you are going to Mi Adventure, I might be interested in joining the excursion, to that park at least. I have never been to IB, and am interested to see what the park has to offer, but don't know what I have Saturday. Please keep me informed, if you don't mind. (I had previously thought that I might try to ride Ravine Flyer II on Saturday.)

While IB is a great small park with one great coaster (Cornball), and several other fun coasters and flats, I would definitely recommend Ravine Flyer II. I like IB as a park much better than Waldameer, but Ravine Flyer was an incredible coaster!

^^I'll PM you my cell # so if you decide to go to MiAdv on Sunday, just give me a call.

I too am anxious to get to both parks since I've been to neither of them.

If you guys are going to MiA on Sunday I may have to make the trek. Haven't been this year and it sounds fun.
