Here's some more ideas that could support an Intamin Rocket Coaster. I found the picture of the former Dodgem site with the footers. Notice the square shape and the 10 or so bolts sticking up in a circular pattern on the footer. Here's the site...

Now look at the Xcelerator construction found at Westcoaster.net. The "Top Hat" appeared to be a much larger cement slab or footer with multiple supports on it... however, the footers for most of the rest of the track columns are similar to the picture above of Area 51. Some are round, some are square. Here is a link to a picture of one of the supports on the top hat with the bolts through the track columns.

Good pics: now if we combine them what have we got?

Give me a break... they look the same as Millennium Force footers, Batman footers and Goliath footers. Look at construction photos from any new coaster in the last few years... they all look the same.

I'm not saying it isn't what you think, but you're just being wishful if you think this proves anything for certain.

7/27: Subdivision Cam becomes party cam at the year's hottest Ohio luau!

Maybe we can get the worlds largest paperweight, AKA Kings Islands Tomb Raider Ride.
TR:TR was great... especially for an Amusement park to do something a Theme park would do... but that's another thread.

The pictures are good and all, but untill I hear it from the park it is all speculation. Fun none the less, but speculation.

july.... almost ending..... august almost here.... no announcement yet..... *twitch* *twitch*
You guys have stumbled onto something! CP is going to build its own version of TR:TR this is because with all the loose change and keys that will fall out of the peoples pockets, they will have enough money for a new coaster in 2004! Please the only thing TR:TR is good for is showing people how the little guy in school used to feel when he was picked up and shaken for his lunch money.

Hypersonic XLC- 17 seconds of ride....only 1.8 of which are fun

We weren't expecting an announcement in July...look for one in August...

...then September...

...then October...j/k :)

June 28th: LocoBazooka Tour (Sevendust headlining)
July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

I dunno if they should delay the announcement a la Six Flags with Nitro....construction is slated to begin at the end of August.

Dude: You are 100% right, they will be getting a larger version of Xcelerater, and it will break both the hieght and speed barier. It will go over 100 ft higher than the Millennium Force, and will reach speeds over 100 mph. I heard the news from imployees @ the park, but you never know, they might be bull sh**in and then we get the purple S&S TA2K that was spotted in Utah, but i am pretty sure that the TA2K will be goin to King's Island (well hopefully).
No, anouncements will be made in the winter when the park is closed
It most certainly will not be 100ft taller than Millennium Force. It will be over 100mph though.

The announcement should come soon enough, though. I'm thinking August something.

I just hope the ride cycle is long, ie more than 45 seconds (not bad for a 120mph launch coaster with no lift hill). That would make my day. :)

EDIT: This post made it sound like I know something about the ride. All the above was just a guess, just like everyone else! Hell, it could be 500ft tall. :)

Does anyone else think that the structure of a TA2K clashes way too much with the overall feel of CP? Especially purple track - I realize Mantis and Millie are purple, but the actual structure of the ride isn't nearly as complex and "full" as a TA2K ... plus those rides look boring to me, but thats the opinion part of this post (I also figured S:UE would be boring, but that changed fast ... )

Steel - #1 Mantis, #2 Millie, #3 Wicked Twister
Wood - #1 Thunderbolt, #2 Villain, #3 Beast

The only problem I have with the " Xcelerater " type coaster theory, is that there are only 2/3 footers in area 51 and Xcelerater has at least a dozen footers for the top hat . I Think area 51 may be something else. Then again I maybe wrong... It has happened once or twice in my life...LOL

Oh, so now only the top had can go in that spot?

I think some of you have very limited vision of what, and where, this thing is gonna go.

Well Thank~you for chastising me on a guess .

but what is a top had ?

It's actually a top hat (had was a typo), and it's the "signature" element on Intamin's new rocket coaster design. Here is a pic - it is the element that goes straight up while twisting 90 degrees, peaks, then drops straight down while twisting back 90 degrees: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1574.htm?Picture=6
