Coaster facelifts

If this is a sign of winter blues already, and there are 3 days left in the season, this is going to be a long winter. ;)

Don't we always get into the Maggie color arguing thing?
Yeah, but at least in two years, we'll have a definitive answer...

Winter blues? No, this is more the fall reds and oranges.

That's just too ironic, Rideman. :)

It was candy apple red not fire engine red not burnt orange.  In 89 I begged and begged my brothetr not to make me go on it, I was only 9 and I remember it was Candy Apple red, look at eth old pics, it was candy apple red
NOT ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!

My God,  I created a coaster fanatic with that ride too!!!  I was too busy laughing at my trickery to pay attention to the actual color.
I say Flambu Orange- same as an old Case Tractor

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

I had a season pass in '89 and I was about 7 at the time. While power-riding Jr. Gemini all summer, I remember seeing Magnum as being orange-red.   Oh and I remember the pads (not wheels) that ran under the track Ala Gemini and CCMR.  Unfortunately I was too little to go on .

We already know about Mantis getting a paint job, and Gemini's station is just about complete, but what else is getting done?  Are they going to fix White Water Landing's cave?

I remember Magnum being orange-red since opening day in 1989 also. It was never candy apple red as far as I can recall.
What was the original topic about again?

"It's kinda like selling your season pass for CP admission tickets."

Should the park execs suddenly have their brains sucked out of their skulls tomorrow and have them replaced with 12-year-old cans of Spam, we could very well expect some corporate decisions that would infuriate a plethora of thrillseekers and park worshippers.

Examples:

Painting the Cedar Creek Mine Ride fuschia

Straightening Magnum's bunny hills

Reworking the strobes on Millennium Force so that the lights spell out in Morse code, "Try the chicken fingers; they're breathtaking."

Once again moving the big ferris wheel so that it sits aloft the first lift hill of Magnum.

Deciding against building Coaster 15 and installing a duck pond instead.

Giving Gemini to Six Flags: Magic Mountain

and installing Over-the-Shoulder restraints on Blue Streak.

I'm working on it, Jeeze!!

ROY-G-BIV guys...You can have your fancy PGP messages, but a free trip on the Magnum XL-200 (included in your admission of-course) for anyone that can decode this one! Here's a hint; It can make thousands of combinations including whatever the hell the Magnum was/is supposed to be. Sounds like there's just a few people that are color blind. Then again, everything I see is grey (gray) anyhow.

I was super before Superstew was cool!

good question, millenniumrider...I was wondering the same thing myself...
Thanks Joe & Matt! :)

As far as the facelift, many of us thought it would have been done for the '99 season for it's 10th. At end of '98 season, they started painting the silver. They only parts they did were the catwalk from station out to transfer, and out to lift. Funny thing was the staircase at bottom of lift that goes to ground. It was half painted. One side bright new shiny silver and the other dull grungy.

There was even talk of a paintjob from the employees. I was so psyched about it. But when opening day '99 arrived,I was disappointed to find it still dull.

Hopefully, with the updated controls supposedly being done for next year, a paint job will follow and let Magnum stand out and shine again.

Sounds like we need the "Rainbow Coalition" to solve this latest secret code.  Might not require the resources of the NSA this time.

Wade prooving that stupidity has no excuse, unless it's funny.

And this sucks! I just got my NSA, CIA, and FBI friends to start decoding the ROY-G-BIV code. You might not be hearing from me for some time now...

Actually, the ROYGBIV code is more significant than you think! When XOR'ed with the proper string, it spells out the first seven letters of CP's newest attraction. Have your NSA friends to work on that one!

DIPPIN DOTS!!!111 THEY ROXOR YUR WORLD!!1!

So it spells out Ballist...interesting. ;)
