Coaster Enthusiast HalloWeekends Kickoff Event

We were completely impressed with everything. So glad I was able to go.

Add my family and I to the list of incredibly happy campers.

We arrived at 3:45. 8 rides on GK in 35 minutes - sat in all four corners as well as some other seats. 3 Rides on MF (Front/Back/Middle) rounded out the first hour and 15 minutes. Took a ride on Maverick during regular early entry. We were in line at TTD exactly at 6pm. 20 minute wait for front seat.

6:30 found us at the Midway Buffet. An amazing spread. 2 plates of perfectly prepared roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, add to that: 1/2 a chicken (!!), some yummy pumpkin roll and a couple of beers and I was ready to be rolled out of there! I'll never look at the Midway Market the same after this. A prefect meal made even better because it was free.

A trip to the car to dump the excellent swag and it was off to the preview of Zombie High.

Ran into Tony's tweetup - a coveted coin and a line skippy x3 for our group. Used the line skippy for a second front row ride on TTD.

We did Erie Estates and then called it a night around 11pm.

Tony out did himself. A very well thought out event that seemed to go off without a hitch. Cedar Point staff was amazingly fun, energetic and outgoing. Met the Cedar Point "chef" at the Midway Buffet and he was super cool. Having a cold beer/wine with dinner was an extra special "nice touch". The swag was top notch and well conceived.

Tony better watch out, I am not sure how he can do any better than he did last night - he has set his own bar pretty high with this one.

Well done Tony, and well done Cedar Point!

I'm not sure how the day could have gone any better.

Considering I actually got drunk for the first time (usually always the DD), I'd say last nights event was especially awesome. The event as a whole was amazing and Zombie High School was well done. MAJOR props to everyone involved with setting this event up.

In terms of Halloweekends, I'm starting to not be a fan of walking into a maze and seeing scareactors just standing in open space. It kills the "scare", imo, if it's not done right. But the theme and scenery for Zombie High School itself was well done for a first year maze. It definitely has serious potential as the season progresses.

Well worth it. I had not been at CP since early 2012 so my first time on GK. First train and then three more rides, then MF after which my stomach said "no more" (for a while). Good meal, good gifts, good fellowship (the sweatshirts sure were out in force). Hit all the haunted houses and most of the scare zones. Ended the night with Magnum (trim off!!!) then with a few minutes to go, entered the TTD line at 11:57 and got two rides in (joined the exit ramp line to be a train filler for the second run).

This was my first year going to enthusiast events, and I'm just amazed by what CP has been doing for us. This was another top-notch event, and I had a blast. The free food & alcohol was great, the ride time was exclusive, Zombie High was well done, and the Halloweekends loot was an unexpected bonus.

Thank you to everyone that put this together. It was much appreciated, and I hope there are more events like this in the future. :)

Friday was probably my second best day in the park ever (a close second to media day)

Both Friday night and media day were great events/days in the park. Well planned and executed. Fun times.

Halloweekend kickoff event has turned out very nice. It was an awesome event that I enjoyed very well. Cedar Point,s staff did a very nice job of putting it on for the coaster enthusiasts. Well done by Cedar Point,s staff.

Any idea if we'll get a "heads up" on this event any sooner than last year? I like to plan for these things. :-)

Nothing yet...

Just plan for it, so if it does happen again you are ready. If not, oh well.

We are already booked at Breakers for the opening Halloweekend, going regardless!

I think it was a one year thing since it just so happened to align with that years Friday the 13th.

Of course, I won't complain if they do another Halloweekends kickoff event. ;)

I think Friday the 13th was just a coincidence. The real point of the event was to show off the new haunt. From the sounds of it, there will be another new haunt this year. We may well get another event. :)

Remember, as enthusiasts, we shouldn't expect anything. The park goes above and beyond to recognize its most loyal fans by being kind enough to offer these special events for us. Heck, I'd still be happy is CoasterMania is the only event.

But don't get me wrong, I sure would love for this HalloWeeekends event to happen, too. :)

True dat. I'm thrilled with all of the amazing events that Cedar Point has held for us weirdos. My expectations at the beginning of the season were low (only because I'm not entitled to anything). They've blown away anything I could've ever hoped for, though.

If there is a Halloweekends kickoff event this year, that would be awesome . I would be grateful to the park. If there is not one, I would be just fine with that as well. :)

Anyone know of any HalloWeekends coaster events? I too am hoping for another kickoff event. There are not any BooBuzz plans that I know of either.
