Coaster Enthusiast HalloWeekends Kickoff Event

Walt's avatar

You are cordially invited to the kickoff event for Cedar Point's 17th annual HalloWeekends!

To be admitted into this event, you must 1) RSVP via the form online and 2) provide a valid membership card at check-in at the park on Friday the 13th.

This invitation to open to any current member of a recognized coaster enthusiast group: American Coaster Enthusiasts, Club TPR, CoasterBuzz.com Club, Coaster Crew, Coaster Fusion Club, Coaster Zombies, Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts, European Coaster Club, Florida Coaster Club, Great Ohio Coaster Club, Mid-Atlantic Coaster Club, National Amusement Park Historical Association, Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain, and Western New York Coaster Club

Again, you must be a current card-carrying member of one of the above groups in order to attend. Membership cards and identifications will be checked prior to admittance into the event. If you're bringing a guest or family member, they must also be a valid member of a recognized coaster club. Each individual attending the event MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY.

EDIT -- I asked and verified that the event is free with a current, valid club card. Remember, there are no guests. Each person must be a current member of one of the aforementioned coaster enthusiast groups.

Looks like a great event. But if your guest has to be a member of a coaster club as well, whats the point of saying you can bring a guest?

Yeah, I'm kind of lost on that, too.

Non-coaster-club invitees can bring guests. Coaster club invitees cannot it would seem.

I suspect there are two groups being invited to this event. One: coaster club members. Two: Guests who are on the park's VIP list (dignitaries, media, etc.). If you are in the coaster enthusiast group, there are no guests and everyone must have a valid membership. If you are in the second group, you can bring one guest.

Edit: Got clarification that the above is correct.

I would but not for just an hour of ERT on millie and GK, and just going through one new haunt that I'm not really fully interested in just yet. Sounds cool, but not for me...I will be there that day though if anyone wants to go ride rides as a pointbuzz/coasterbuzz/ect group however

It doesn't say otherwise, but I'm assuming the meal at midway market is free??

This is a nice offer by cp, a close second to media day, which was also awesome!

Does anyone know it they are limiting attendees?

Due to the late announcement (only 2 weeks out), I kinda feel like it might have been a recent decision to invite enthusiasts to an event that would have been just for the media, etc.

If you need additional coaster club memberships, Jeff stated over on Coasterbuzz that if you join the club this weekend, he will mail out membership cards this week, in time for the event.

I hope that CP and other parks (hint, hint) continue to invite enthusiasts for these kind of events. Hopefully it benefits everyone involved.

I ALWAYS have plans when these things are announced. Crap. Looks like fun though!!

I don't want to make assumptions about this event, but is it safe to assume that this event doesn't require regular admission price for coaster club members? Not an issue for me due to season passes, but a friend is a member of a club but no season passes. Just want to clarify before he makes the long drive. Either way looks to be a fun night.

I would think it would require regular admission to get in (if you don't have the season/platinum pass) along with your coaster club card.

That's what I assumed at first. However I noticed they make no mention of needing regular admission to get in on the pdf or on the registration page. If I recall correctly the registration page and announcement for Coastermania this year specifically had the disclaimer that participation did not include admission price. I have sent an inquiry to CP through their Contact Us page, so hopefully I'll have a clear answer. Just want to make sure before our friend makes a long drive for the event. Thanks for the response!

EDIT: There's also the way the "Invitation" is worded. I believe Media Day was similar in the way they announced it. Anywho I'll keep on checking around. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for the confirmation.

This is just one more reason why I love Cedar Point. Going to be great time.
