Coaster Con 2004

Coastermania is an event put on by CP for "card carrying members" of roller coaster clubs. Check out this flyer for more info. *** Edited 6/16/2004 2:34:09 AM UTC by Coasterfan***

It starts June 20th? This is fathers day and isn't fathers day traditionally gayday? should be interesting with the different groups meeting on this day. Should be a good day for coasater riding and crowd watching; especially to talk to some of these "coaster experts. *** Edited 6/16/2004 10:44:06 PM UTC by KA***

You know you're having a good day when you're looking at the green side of the grass and not the underside.

Nice stereotype. I love to hear the Jews complain about the food prices and the black folks try to pay with food stamps too.

Stupid.

Nice sterotype? High Pitched voices screaming on rideS? it shows they are having a good time. No need to bring Jews or African Americans into something. I only brought it up because the first day of this little shindig happens to be when a lot of homosexual people visit the park, get over it.

You know you're having a good day when you're looking at the green side of the grass and not the underside.

Well, that was a weak attempt at covering your ass. You're still stupid, and it's still a stereotype. Do you even know what the word means?

Rich G / PTC99

Cover my ass? I never was never attempting to do so. A stereotype? I am not a middle school boy or nor am I a crazed Cedar Point kid, just a person who happens to enjoy the point. Gayday is a fun day to go and watch the crowd; do not act like you have never done this...still concerned as to why people are getting so concerned over a coment that was relating to crowds and specific events at the park.

You know you're having a good day when you're looking at the green side of the grass and not the underside.

Okay then, care to edit your initial post so it doesn't look like you're pigeonholing a group of people?

KA siad:

Gayday is a fun day to go and watch the crowd

So i got a question, do bring into CP a lawnchair and a six pack and waste 12 hours of your life looking at gay people? It sounds to me that it be alot easier just to turn on Becker.

Huh?

This topic needs to be closed, IMO.

Getting back on subject, there are 800 people registered for CoasterCon. Wherever you guys are hearing 400, you're completely lost...

Right from Dave Bird, ACE registration director...400 people registered by the early registration deadline. He said it was dissapointing, but he supposes it was the $275 registration fee and the LARGE number of ACE'ers who have Cedar Fair season passes who weren't willing to pay the HUGE registration fee.

The 800 number your'e all getting was the ESTIMATED number that ACE was HOPING for back in February when they put the flyer out. This was the number they told Cedar Point to POSSIBLY prepare for.

BeastBuzz is the Saturday after. We're expecting ~160 or more, and frankly I don't care if it's 10 or 10,000 people. On-site registration is $45, or $25 if you have a Paramount pass. Good times.

What will the lines be like? Will they be like this?

The 800 number I'm getting is the number I was told on Tuesday by 2 different people involved with the Con. Whether they registered early or late, there will be 800 people there. *** Edited 6/17/2004 3:00:08 AM UTC by shorty***

...and 800 people are a drop in the proveribial bucket when it comes to peak season crowds. Other than seeing more than your fair share of enthusiasts, it should be just like any other operating day this time of year. Unless there's a run on the place, the Con shouldn't effect attendance.

This isn't Coastermania where half of the attendees get in free with their season passes :)

With the coaster enthusiasts going on Sunday, does this mean it will be really, really crowded??

If you haven't been reading along, a couple hundred people aren't going to have any significant impact on attendance.

I have been to two ACE Cons, 2001 in Pennsy and 2002 in Los Angeles. I had a blast at both of them! I have found that the smaller, regional events seem to offer more ERT time though. Smaller crowds.

The reason why I am not doing this ACE Con is because I can't justify paying that much when I already have a CP season pass and can go *virtually* anytime I want.

If I had never been to CP or Geauga Lake before and/or lived on the other side of the country (not within reasonable driving distance) then I could justify it.

I do know quite a few CP season passholders who frequent the park who ARE going which is cool. If you can afford the extra cost all the better!

I am sure it will be an awesome Con, and I can't wait to hear about it. :-)

<----who is VERY much looking forward to Coastermania and Halloweekends instead. :-D *** Edited 6/19/2004 12:38:21 PM UTC by coasterqueen***

I will be at CP on the 22nd with a church group. I was wondering if it will be lots more crowded or just normal. What are EMT? Are they like freeway passes or something? Sorry I'm new to the PO!NT.

-thanks
