Coaster Choices In 2002?

With all the rumors of possibly 2 coasters in 2002, I was interested in finding out if YOU had the FINAL decision what two roller coasters you would put in at the Point?

I would put in a B/M Floorless and a CCI Woodie :p
Thanks.
Mikey :)
Yeah, I would probably put a B&M Floorless and a CCI coaster as well. A floorless looks awesome! And a CCI would be a great addition to the woodies they have now.

Why build a floorless and a CCI when there is one of each 90 miles away? If I had my choice I would put in a dueling GCI woodie like Lightning Racer at Hershey. I would put it down the Oceana midway. Then I would take Schwabinchen and Ocean Motion move them to the Gemini midway. Then across from the Corkscrew station in the lagoon I would but a Mac Wild Mouse! That adds three coasters to our count giving us 17!

Good point Dan, but I am only 15 years old and my parents doesn't like amusement parks as much as I do and the only park they'll take me to is the Point so it would be nice to have one at CP also.:)

How about a floorless CCI woodie, and a dueling Thrust Air...Okay, maybe not...A floorless Chaos ride and an inverted woodie...no...okay, no....Seriously...I'd like to see a great woodie, because CP has enough steel to rebuild the Titanic and then some. But I'd also like to try just a regular B&M sit-down looper. Doesn't have to be floorless, just because everyone is going bezerk over them doesn't hide the fact that they're just a gimmick. Or maybe a launched Vekoma suspended like Volcano...Oh well, I don't know why I reply to these ones...they'll probably just make a B&M floorless...

Question: How do you explain the actions of millions of people who wait hours upon hours to be dropped down a hill???

Answer: You don't...
Funny how you would like to see a GCI dueling coaster like LR, Dan... ;) Personally, I'd love to see a Ghostrider clone for all the woodie fans (like me!) and an Arrow 4th Dimension (although I don't know where they'd put it!). I think a floorless is an option, but not a good one. Although I like the floorless coaster's I've been on, I really don't think one would fit into CP since they already have two looping B&M giants. You can only have so many coasters that go down a first drop and right into a vertical loop....
A dueling GCI would be nice, as would a B&M floorless (although, they really have not been widely accepted as a good coaster - most people haven't ridden one yet). I would personally like to see an LIM powered coaster. Speed: The Ride in Vegas was awesome, I could just imagine what could be done with an LIM system and loads of looping steel track. An inverted one like Volcano would be cool. Or how about this for an idea: An LIM powered B&M Floorless?

Well, I came up with the idea of having a launched coaster (b&m or intamin) launch out from inback of Snake River, towards the Magnum hill on MF, but then either have a giant corkscrew or a giant 0g roll over the pattlewheel water, then dive over Millenniums track, go forward, the under and over the wide turn with a immelman. then come back, have either a 0g roll or corkscrew (whatever isnt being used on the first element), then have it go into a batwing or cobra roll (preferably a batwing) - then into a break run - i forget the rest, but that would be an incredible start!

A dueling woodie sounds good!!

Isn't one racer coaster enough for one park??? They need a good woodie but instead of concentrating on racing they should concentrate on things like air time, elements, and making it so it doesn't destroy itseld like mean streak... A B&M floorless would be cool.
I'd say a new woodie, CCI or GCI. A launched coaster would be cool, but the capacity of those types of coasters arn't that high.

I would rather have a good woodie though, one with alot of airtime, laterals, throw in some elements like Trick Track and a Helix, some tunnels. People are talking about space of a woodie, if you have a woodie with steel suports, they don't take up as much room and still give a woodie type ride.

*Dude, Where's my car?*
Wood sounds good. However, I would like to add my 4 1/2 cents.:) First off, is Gemini a wood, or steel. Some say steel, tubular track. Others say wood. I say steel. Gemini is smooth. Mean Streak is rough. Cedar Point could use a woodie. Think of it, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000. Steel. 2003,wood, very much wood.
Highly tunneled Ghostrider type coaster in the front of the park.
I would have to say a CCI woodie and S&S Sports Power TA2K. THat or B&M sit looper

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point.
If I get to choose two then I'd first contract Intamin to do something similar to their awesome Volcano because it is a completely different experience than anything at Cp right now. Next, I'd lean towards a CCI woodie. Anyone who's made the trip down to Holiday World knows where I'm coming from here...:)
Having been on Medusa and Batman at SFO, I don't see the big thrill.. I was actually pretty let down with floorless coasters.

I'd like a launch of some kind, or wood. Could care less, as my opinion matters nothing. CF will do what they want with CP and I trust they will make the right choice. They always have..

MF 2000 - 269 laps
i would like shivering timbers clone.this ride has it all,air time, great layout and its a smooth ride.
Even though CP needs a better "standard" looper, the Corkscrew foots the bill for now. The one thing I would add is a CCI woodie, racing / dueling if the money is there, but one high quality, crowd pleasing woodie is my choice. That is the one thing CP really gets slammed for, not having a really good woodie.

I disagree with the B&M floorless coasters being a gimmick. I mean, what's the other option, a standard looper with a normal floor? You might as well have the floorless aspect to add to the thrill. Medusa West is my favorite looping coaster. A launched B&M floorless (or complete circut, Premier launched looper, NOT a spaghetti bowl) is my pick for CP's next steel coaster. (2003?) Think about it, that would satisfy two gaps in the CP coaster lineup in one move, launched AND sitdown looper. of course, keep the Corkscrew for the nostalgic riders.

hmmm...
CCI woodie
THEN...
Launched B&M

A floorless would be redundant unless it launches.
1. A CCI coaster very similar to Ghostrider, only call it "Phantom Rider".

2. A launched full-circuit looping coaster...but not by B&M...the loops will be the same as Raptor and Mantis. I'm talking about a coaster with different styles of loops...maybe Intamin can imagine something up.
