Wow, Another season over. Time flies the older we get!! I cant believe I am 32!!!
Well my now annual final weekend trip to CP from Chicago was great.
We left Friday morning, My wife, 13 year old brother and my Father. We were all worried because weather reports were saying rain all weekend!! The weather turned out great. By the way it was my brother's first time going on roller coasters here, so we couldnt wait to see him on the rides, he said he had butterflies in his stomach the whole drive down thinking about the rides!! He has only been on two roller coasters in his life... Raging Bull and The Eagle. Terrible park and rides but that is all we have in Chicago.
I cant believe how lucky we were with the weather and then our room was upgraded at breakers to a lakeview suite at no extra charge!!
I dont want to bore people with a full detailed report.. It was just an awesome time with family. And seeing my brother's face on Demon Drop, MF and TTD was priceless!!!
I loved the Toy Factory and the ending was so unique!! All of the scare zones were fun also. Now I dont know if anyone on here has been to Universal's Halloween HN (Orlando), I was there in early October and I feel that Cedar Point's is just as good if not better. Maybe I expected too much from Universal but overall I was not impressed. The scare zones at Universal were very boring and short walk through's.
Farewell Demon Drop!! It looks like I will have to plan a trip to Knott's berry farm soon now!!
Until Next Year!!!

I've heard the same thing from several other people. Good news for CP. :)
I agree. I've been visiting Halloween Horror Nights for the last 6 years, along with a few random times throughout the 1990's, and though it is a phenomenal event, sometimes the whole atmosphere and scarezones can really lack (This year being one of those years.)
With the 2 new houses, the OverLord/Icon, along with general improvements each year, Halloweekends is really becoming quite the event! It's something to look back on how far this event has come, especially over the last few years. It's awesome to have such an amazing event so close, especially one that keeps improving so much each year.
I am glad other people feel the same. I am not saying it was not worth the money or that it was horrible. I think part of it was that I expected too much before we went. As for the haunted houses at HHN, the theming, backgrounds, artwork and sound effects were great but they put everyone through the houses together and the actors did a horrible job I feel trying to scare people. I am sure the reason they do this is because of crowd control since the event is sold out alot.
To me it seems that the screamsters at CP really enjoy doing their job compared to Universal.
Yeah, SFGA just can't compare to Cedar Point. After moving from southeastern Michigan to the Chicago area, I have been deprived from formerly regular trips to the Point. In fact, this is the second season in a row I've missed (compared to visiting ~12 times in '04, with each of those being a two day trip.)
As for Halloweekends in general, I've always been impressed, but after two seasons of being at a full weekend, the Saturdays are ridiculously packed compared to Friday and Sunday. 45 minute waits for Corkscrew?!
Glad you had fun; hopefully I can make it in 2010 for Shoot the Rapids!!
