Closing Day-Oct 27th

Closing Day Sunday Oct 27th

My only goal this day? A picture with Mr Kinzel

High Po!nts of the day: Joining a bunch of Po!nters at TGIF’s for breakfast. Asking Dave Altoff (Rideman) if he could analyze the buffet eggs and tell us what they really were ;) Listening to some Mr Skyward (aka: Sandusky Sports Guy) stories, and then placing bets to see what shirt he would be sporting at park that day. Seeing Sparty’s beautiful daughter Julia, she’s gotten SO big and looks just like Dana! I do not think Matt (skykicker) will EVER forget our 1st AM ride on MF-for some reason (;)) my seatbelt was WAY loose and my lap bar was WAY up. Airtime? How about Matt looking over and saying "holy S!" when he saw how far out of the seat I came? ;) That ride was a classic! Mantis ride where Tony fractured my ear drum calling to Matt, where I got the op to say "enjoy your ride on Banshee" and where we all got to boo and hiss when they would say Mantis was better than Raptor. We rode front car, NO trim either! Banshee was hauling! :) When we were on line to get our MF freeway stamp when Mr Skyward came over to me (he was sporting a gray Champion sweat shirt so NO winners from earlier bet! I also found it rather sad that we all knew we had never seen him wear that particular shirt before!) and said he thinks the new ride will be 500’ tall. We rode pretty much everything, and eventually teamed up with Dave (Dodgem Dave) for the later part of our exciting day. Running up and diving on him was fun! We went and saw Aaron Radatz’s magic show and it was awesome. I was VERY disappointed no tutu. Walking along midway in the evening and someone grabbed me from behind and said "boo!" I thought it was Dave and when I turned around saw it was Mr Skyward! He told me to have a nice winter and he’d see me next year - how sweet! Plus he even remembered my name! As the day went on I made sure I stopped to hug all the people I knew (and again I had NO clue just how many people that was!) The Scrambler ride with Flora, Dave AND I was a classic too, I know Dave will never forget it! ;) Us riding the Turnpike cars was HILARIOUS! Seeing Dave and Tony try to fit was TOO funny. Also getting yelled at ;) by John for bumping and stopping! :) One of the funniest lines of the day "look Jo, there are some fellow enthusiasts!" GRRR!!! ;) Listening to Jeff and Tony argue over who’s cheese stick was bigger. Once park closed (what happened to Raptor will be in my low po!nts section) I hung with my Raptor crew, even being allowed to transfer off the trains for the season. I autographed a copy of last years Sandusky Register for Michael, and the crew members said some of the sweetest things to me. We took TONS of pictures, some of which I can NOT wait to see!

Oh, and I DID take a picture with Mr Kinzel!!! :) :) :)

Low Po!nts of the day: Its closing day! :( Matt was sick and couldn’t hang with us all day. The weather was HORRIBLE it was cold, damp and chilly all day. Despite all of us having piles of clothes on it was COLD! Saying goodbye to Schwabinchen :( Watching someone puke all over Blue Streaks platform BEFORE he even rode! ("Hey-weren’t those the eggs from TGIFs this morning?" :)) Raptor going down at 7:15 and NOT coming back up. No last season ride for me :( and sadder was the crew didn’t get a ride together either :( No Hooper! Where is my PIC?? But again the lowest po!nt for me is simply because it was closing day :( I cried alittle when Jeff and I pulled away from the park for the last time for 2002.

Every CP season seems to get better and better for me, 2002 was no exception. What an AWESOME season. I had a great time EVERY trip, and tons more memories to cherish till next season. I met many new friends, GTTPers, CBers, GOCCers and of course tons more thanks to being a part of the CP family again this season. I have to send a special "thanks" to Dave (and his pinkie) for he was one of the new Po!nters this season who fit RIGHT in and was a riot!! :) Seeing my Po!nter buds all season was awesome. Thank you for all the fun times and thanks for stopping by Raptor to say hi when I was working! I am honored to have you all as my friends and cherish your friendships. I hope you all have some of the great memories I do and look forward to many more next season! I wore my work ID proudly and when I would be saying "Raptor is ready" or "clear" I was truly in heaven!!! :) I am very proud to have been part of the 2002 Raptor crew, they rocked and I loved them ALL! (Yes even DJ! ;)) And as always very proud to be one of the senior (in more ways than one ;)) members here on GTTP.

Have a great and safe winter! Some we will be getting together over the winter I am sure of that ;) and for all the others....see you on Opening Day 2003! You know where to find me!!! No, not at THAT thing!! Raptor silly :)

Love and hugs! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Stand up straight & hold on tight with your feet flat and heels against the back if you find yourself sitting stand up now as Cedar Point does not provide ice packs at the end of the ride!!

Hey Jo - shut the f^&* up! :) Did you happen to walk in the Marina gate on Sunday morning ? Because I swear I was listening to some people in the line and one of them said, "shut the f^&* up" and I thought of you and not 10 seconds later I saw someone walk by that looked an aweful lot like you and the person was an employee too so it had to have been you. :) Anyway - sorry I missed you this weekend. Raptor was beat by the time we went to ride Saturday and Sunday you were wandering around the park and not working. ;)

Shut the **** up Matt! ;) Yup that WAS me! I got dropped off there right before park opened-walked past all the people who were waiting, used my employee ID to get in. Someone I know was on line and said "you're late Jo" I turned around and said, "oh, I'm not working today-I'm here to play!! ha ha!" :) I was hangin with the Raptor crew from the time Raptor went down to way past park closing-that's why you didn't see me! ;) Have a great winter! See ya next season! :)
