I was packed and ready to move out the night before! Processing out of housing was a relief! There is just something about the old part of 1500 commons-blech! Weather sucked, rainy and chilly...very gray. Piling on the clothes and again my wonderful raingear would come to my rescue!
My b/f Eric left Columbus at 5:30am to meet me at the park, where we headed to TGIFs early to meet up with fellow Po!nters for breakfast. He wore the CP shirt that I had embrodered "Raptor Eric" on it. Too funny!! :) Great
breakfast! It was awesome seeing Po!nters I hadn't seen that much this season, Sparty and his beautiful daughter Julia to name a few.
Gates open ... off to park for closing day.
High Po!nts:
1st ride of the day on Maggie, where we were the only ones on the whole train. Eric thought that was too cool and OMG was it a COLD ride too! :)
The Paddlewheel Excursion where Eric and I were the only ones on the boat and Captain Matt let me say all the lines (and even added a few of my own!) THAT was classic and too much fun!! :)
The Scrambler ride - Dave's hair and crushing comment, absolutely hilarious! :)
The Space Spiral ride - when the recording said "TTD reaches a speed of 120mph" and I said "when it's running!" The ride op (Amanda) and everyone else cracked up :)
Blue skies did appear for a while, and no more real rain to speak of :)
Meeting up with Mr Skyward (Power Tower t-shirt) several times during the day, and at night's end even had him riding Raptor with us :)
Finding out the Marlins won the world's series!!! :) :)
The 5 rides on MF, especially the last 2 night rides which were both front seat (thanks Mikey!) THOSE rides were DEFINITELY colder than the morning Maggie ride! :)
The TTD ride together, then making Eric use my pass to ride alone :)
Eating together in the employee caf :)
Meeting another GTTP'er (FatChris), and seeing Mikey (Olympic10086) and Dave (HotHitz) :)
Riding Raptor 6x, and riding the last GP Raptor train of the season together :)
Low Po!nts:
None
I have to say that '03 was a great season for me. Granted I didn't get my 1k flights (next season for sure!) but had so many great memories with Eric and all my Po!nter/CP buds. Taping another Discovery Channel special (this time on Raptor-woo hoo!) was a great memory too!!
I met so many new friends and felt sad saying goodbye to many of them Sunday but knowing I would be seeing them
all again next season (some GOCC'ers sooner than that) made it seem not so bad.
Thank you to ALL my fellow CP employees for again accepting me as one of your own. Glad you guys all liked my cookies and appreciated the gloves and chap stick. It was awesome being part of the Raptor crew again!!! I am
proud to have been a part of that again. Glad the Raptor pumpkin made such an impression too! :)
To Flora (RCRed):
Thanks for the hook up with the dorm room. I can never
thank you enough for that. Being in the dorm from Hell was bad enough, it could have only been worse by having another roommate from Hell like we did last season! I did miss our late night talks!!!
To my GTTP buds, Dave (Dodge em Dave), Matt (Skykicker), Matt (Hooper-and aka my PIC), Tony (Tony), Greg (lurker):
I had a great time hanging with you guys at our favorite place on earth, thanks for more great memories and Eric and I look forward to adding more! :)
Thanks to Eric for coming into my life and sharing CP, Raptor and all my crazy CP friends with me
(wedding?? here? what wedding?? ;))
To Bryan: Thanks for everything as always, but NO frisco burger for you!!! ;)
To any of you who introduced themselves to me, or made sure they said hi to me when I was working Raptor or running around the park, thanks to you too! I can never express here how wonderful that made me feel! It was great seeing and meeting some of you!! :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful winter and CU AT CP in '04! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)
