I have only heard classic rock so far on the main park soundtrack. I went today too. I also noticed this at Kings Island. Did anyone else notice this?

While waiting for Raptor I heard Miley Cyrus, then Ozzy. The kids areas have mostly Disney Music and Kids friendly. Near TTD I heard a lot of music with no words, which was kind of annoying.

Classic rock...Way better than techno and country crap they play. I truly think they need to hire someone to totally revamp the entire soundtrack of the park.
So if they wouldn't play country in an old west area, what exactly would you play that would actually fit the mood of the area? That's what I thought. I'm not a fan of country by any stretch of the imagination, but really, the music isn't that bad. I would hate to hear some of you after working at the park for four months or more. The music is fine as it is, its pretty family friendly, upbeat, and positive. Maybe its just me, but for some reason, I just can't quite fit Enter Sandman, Breaking The Law, or any Dream Theater song into the Cedar Point mood (by the way, I love Metallica, Judas Priest, and Dream Theater).
Enjoy the sights and sounds, I manage to stay happy while in Frontier Town, you can too. The music is background music for a happy day, not the focus of the park.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I hear classic rock a lot when standing in line for Raptor.
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
Many of the large coasters have a themed soundtrack of some sort...
Magnum plays mostly 80's music, Millennium is a techno/house extravaganza, Maverick is country/western themes, but Raptor is kind of odd... They do play alot of classic rock, but on Sunday I heard a punk cover of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline... yikes.

Yeah, I've heard some pretty wierd ones in Raptor's queue. They play some classic rock, and then I have heard some really wierd 80's stuff too.
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
Rides are themed to their time peroid if not in Frontiertown. Magnum has the "80s classics" Raptor has late 80s-early 90s music.
Raptor was playing new rock, old rock, and the Family Matter's theme song yesterday. It was a very random mix. They had some remixes that would play 4 songs mashed together, playing about 30 seconds of each at a time. I wasn't a huge fan.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I have never, ever, understood why they play pop country in Frontiertown. Did the people in the old west listen to Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain? Thematically it makes no sense, not even a little.
If you are that worried about theming, then I would think the millions of LED lights and 310 foot coaster themed with techno/house music on the Frontier Trail would be of bigger concern than the playing of "This Kiss" or "Boot Scootin Boogie"
I personally don't like the music, but I think it fits the theme well enough.

MF's techno gets me pumped for the ride, same with TTD's republica
Platinum passholder '09. Rides so far this year on -MF-3-TTD-5-mav.-3- my car to the point-2
^TTD without republica isn't the same. Every time I hear that song I think of riding TTD.

At Kings Island on Saturday I heard a lot of newer songs. Nickelback and other newer rock artists were being played. I liked it. Is CP playing the same?

Ugh, as if every radio station on the planet doesn't shove that god awful Nickelback crap down down people's throats enough. No thank you.
I chaperoned a trip to Kennywood for High School Physics day earlier in the week, and they also had classic rock playing through the entire park.
Loved it.
They also played Hinder at KI. Anything is better than the cheap old songs that were not even sang by the real artist.
