Checking into housing

I have to proc. in tom. but i dont really want to wake up a 6am to leave. I was thinking of driving into CP tonight. Whats the lastest i can get into housing? Or can I get into housing at all? And is there a # I can call? Thanks to any future help

Park at housing and bring your contract, show the person at the gate your contract, tell them you wish to check in. They'll show you where to go (its pretty obvious, straight ahead). Go inside to the desk, tell them you need to move in. They'll take it from there.

Since it's a 12 hour drive for me to get to CP, I moved into housing around 7 PM both years I worked up there, and processed in to the park the next morning. This will also allow you to get to HR really early so you will not have to wait in a line.

Well the housing is open 24/7 usually, but I dont know when that starts.

Ok I must ask , If I am told my process in day is may 3rd. Can I check in May2nd. If so how does that work. Please explain. I'd rather be on site before i have to check in to work than do it all on one day.

Last summer I stayed in Commons Dorms. My train arrived in the middle of the night, and I just showed my contract to the guy on the desk in the building I wanted to stay in and he gave me my roomkey. It was definately great to be able to shower and the like before getting my ID picture taken. I'd been on the go for 2 days by that point

Thats exactly what I was wondering about ScottishLou becuase I am taking Amtrak and my train is scheduled to get in at 5 something in the morning and I didnt' want to be sitting outside the Human Resources office for 3 hours!

So we can get into housing before checking in with human resources? We just have to go to the commons dorms? I'm new this year so thanks for the help.

okay so im new to all this as well...gotta a few questions

first if you get into your room the night before you process in does that mean you have to do the HR orientation that day? Second how do you get to choose your dorm?? And last how do they pair you up with roomates??

Lakerdude, actually I think that you would have to go to Cedars First to find which room you will check into. They have the rooms mapped out there at the front desk. After they sign you into a room, you should be able to go to your Commons room.

Okay. I'm a little confused on this, so just to clarify....

My first scheduled day of work is May 18. My processing in date is May 17. Can I check into housing on the 16th? And if I can, do I go to the housing office or to the desk in the building where I want to live?

You can check into housing 24 hours before your process in date.. so yeah you could in fact check into housing the 16th.. I believe you go to the actualy housing office when you get there..
