The Holiday Inn Express on 250 - can't go wrong with that hotel, either.

I agree with Magnum Lantz about the Hampton. Of course being a Hilton Diamond has it's privileges too (I was spoiled when doing a lot of travel for work). I actually prefer the Hampton that's further out by the turnpike than the one closer in, and it's usually the cheaper of the two. I just wish there was a Hilton Garden Inn closer to the park.

The main problem I had finding one was that we are all 18, and several of them had a minimum check in age of 21. Very few were 18.

What about the local campgrounds? They usually have cabins that are pretty nice and pretty cheap. I don't know how old you have to be to rent one, though.

At least 18 and that depends on which town it's in.

Sandusky proper requires there to be at least one person 21 years or older to get a room. Some places check.. some don't..

I looked into it very deeply. I got a list of the hotels in Sandusky and went to their websites. Some said 18, some said 21. Some said nothing at all.

Dont stay at the Days Inn on 250 at the turnpike, you will hear a train go by every 30 min,and it just shakes the whole motel.

Me and one of my friends stayed at the south shore inn right behind castaway bay and it was 140 for the first night, Really nice hotel if you ask me.

South Shore Inn has a website. Just type in the name as one word .com and your good to go. I do computer support for this awesome family run hotel.

During the season, I added wireless internet access to the lobby, bar, and restaurant area's. I hope to get it into the rooms by next season.

Should be very cheap rates now since they close for the season with the park.

This is a bit away from CP 8 miles, but the Motel 6 near the turnpike is AMAZING! I used to once a month spend one of my days off/nights off there to get a good nights rest... REAL CHEAP REAL CLEAN
