I probably shouldn't post this because I don't like threads like these. I wanted to clarify what my mom meant by the comment I said she made on the first page of this.
First of all, she is not an enthusiast. She has not gone to any SF parks. She has however, talked to many people who have gone to SFWoA, and some other SF parks. She says she hasn't once talked to someone who didn't complain about one of the major rides being down the entire time they were at the park. Therefore, she sees Six Flags as being a park that never has the major rides running, and therefore must not have a very good maintenance staff.
Regardless of weather this is true or not, this is just how one non-enthusiast sees things. That's what she meant by CP will get the same reputation as SF has.
As for me, I still feel CP is superior in maintenance and uptime. I also believe GTTP is the best CP forum out there, and will not be going anywhere else.

Please show me in Gemini's post where it says that his site was mentioned at Coastermania.
Nope? Didn't think so. Your point?

Unless you mean the one on your head, in which case you can probably comb your hair just right over it and people won't notice...
I think these forums are the best, followed by TPOL forums (don't kill me for saying that). This site is great, and I really like reading the posts. Sometimes things do get out of hand her, just because someone who is new has a complaint, but those people should try going to TPOL for once, they need more members. GTTP is the best CP site out there, if you add up all the experience it has, and all the members that know what there doing, it's a great site!
Jeff, do you really have Kinzel's phone number?

Gemini- I don't remember hearing your site mentioned at Coastermania.
My point was showing the respect the Guide to the Point has at Cedar Point. This discussion has nothing to do with my site. The other two sites in question were brought into this discussion when they were specifically mentioned by another poster. I merely followed up on that.

Jeff: Professionalism? Yes...after all, you ARE the moderator.
Jeff: You're new here, aren't you? Does it really matter if I am new or not. I ran a BBS for 4 years...I know how these things work. And with the above comment...it sounds like you are talking "down" to me...that really isn't very nice Jeff.
Jeff: I pay the bills, I act as I see fit. Guess professionalism doesn't matter to you then.
Jeff: That's the way it is. If you don't like it, you're welcome not to visit. I suppose I could "tolerate" it. Especially after the nice email I had gotten from a member asking that I stay because he happens to like my posts. I'm sorry that you get your panties bunched up sometimes. Sometimes I do too...but that's when I put "sorry" in my message to let people know that I am not in the right frame of mind when I am typing. It's REALLY hard to judge someone's TRUE feelings in the typewritten word.
Jeff: Have a nice professional day, That sounded rather sarcastic. ::laugh:: (I know...I know...it was MEANT to be!)
Jeff: and I'd advise against going to any forum and telling the established regulars what and how to post. Is this a "threat?" Are you going to beat me up? ::laugh:: c'mon Jeff... lighten up a little, jeesh!!! ::thinking someone didn't like having his toes stepped on::
Back to topic on hand (sorry this got into a luv fest ::kisses::): I don't think I'll be riding Chaos anymore...with the two incidents I really think something bad could happen. Drive system or whatever, it doesn't really matter... it shouldn't have fallen apart mid ride. Yes... it DID break apart... it was stated that a piece FELL OFF THE BACK of the ride...I'd consider that breaking apart.
By the way... what is TPOL and why am I too old for it??? ::laugh::
Thank you Anonymous for trying to get us back on topic! ::smile::

That's when I realize that I probably shouldn't bother posting.

Nevermind Jeff... this has gotten pathetic.

BACK TO THE TOPIC ON HAND:
I just don't know if I'll ride Chaos anymore considering what has happened with TWO of the Chaos rides. However; Chaos IS one of my Favorite rides!!!!! (Next to MF, of course!)
I don't know where this turned into a pissing contest and I don't want to get into it, but I think it is a bit odd that you ride Millennium Force, but not Chaos? Afterall, MF's lift cable did break last fall forcing a train of employees to be evacuated from the top of the lift in the escape vehicle. Here are some pics. The ride was down for a couple of days (labor day weekend as I recall) while they installed a new cable and repaired the damage to the lift sled and the teeth on the lift. Things break sometimes, but that does not necessarily mean they are unsafe. There probably aren't all that many steel coasters in the world that haven't cracked in one place or another. It's the nature of the beast - things get beat on, they break. But they get fixed so they can be beat on some more! :)
Laura, I have enjoyed most of your posts, but you're getting a little too personal in this thread. If you have a complaint, just use e-mail. :)
