Chaos

I don't know if SFNO was in a flood plain or not. But, then again, how much of the US is located in a flood plain? Probably a lot. But, how many times has SFNO flooded and caused that much damage? It was a hurricane. South Florida is devastated all the time from hurricanes. Should we not build anything in Florida ever again?

I didn't mean it didn't make sense to build in New Orleans, but why rebuild a park that performed poorly before the disaster and now the city's population is only getting lower. The market for the park is just getting smaller and smaller.

SFNO was built in East New Orleans which partly is the 9th ward. This area was extremely flooded. The part of new orleans everyone goes to wasn't flooded badly, its not about rebuilding new orleans, just the homes these people lived in. The senate overrode a veto today which will finally after so long of waiting give us money to build the Morganza through Terrebonne which will prevent these flood from happening and therefore fix the problems the Army Corps of Engineers made.

its such a nice park(at least for sf), or at least it was, it would be great if they. could open again someday. But to add to the comment, chaos isnt a bad ride, but i would never really call it a good one.

^^ - don't rebuild. Relocate. I have no problem with providing the people of New Orleans with re-location assistance. Get them back on their feet in another part of the country.

But to continually use tax dollars to rebuild an area that will be destroyed by the next big hurricane is just insane and puts us right back where we started.

And what's going to prevent a below sea-level area from flooding?

I really like the Chaos at CP. Very fun and I love making the tub do some flips.

Then lets not rebuild California from the wildfires...they are too prone to wildfires. Just move them away. Or anywhere in Tornado Alley because they are too prone to tornadoes. And the next time power goes otu from a snowstorm, lets not try to restore it, it will just happen again with the next one.

It all is a very very touchy subject.... I don't agree with the Senate's decision, but then again, many of them probably wouldn't agree with my philosophy on life either. Should we abandon New Orl? Should we abandon CA? These are all questions that will plague philosopher's and politicians alike for years to come.... I do think we should abandon Iraq and other worldly issues long before we abandon our own cities and the homeless that reside here in the US.

I don't understand, I don't think anyone is saying not to rebuild in New Orleans. It's was a very sad event where thousands lost their homes.

But we are talking about an amusement park that was underperforming before the disaster happened. This isn't about not rebuilding the city, but not rebuilding a park that wasn't doing well from the beginning.

I think the greatest way to sum this up:

N'awlins has bigger (craw)fish to fry right now than the rebuilding of a destroyed amusement park.

It's all about the priorities.

True, I don't think SFNO should be rebuilt, I was talking about the city. The park was just fine when it was Jazzland. The owners at the time before it was transformed into Six Flags, Ogden Entertainment, then Alfa Group Parks, both folded, but the park itself wasn't losing money. Back to my original question...is this king chaos i pictured the same as chaos or not?

Chaos is fun but i dont get to ride it that much.

How many times would you ride Chaos if you had the chance? I usuallyride it like 2-3 times after riding Wicked Twister 2 times. The bestpart of chaos is when your already spinning and you start flipping. What do you think?

I usually only ride it once, because the group I go with doesn't really do re-rides... but if I were by myself, I think I'd probably ride it about 3 times. It's definitely one of my favorite flats at the park.

I've been on it twice. I don't really ever go out of my way to ride it.

Chaos is a good Thrill Ride for me. In 2006 on the Opening Day w/ JCC I rode the WT then to Chaos and I was the only one on Chaos. On the Opening Day in 2007. I rode the Blue Streak by myself, because I think everybody ran to the MF, TTD, and the Raptor.

I went on Chaos one time, and the last time. I must say that it is the first ride that actually made me feel nauseous. My kids love it though!

Good i really hope Chaos does not go..it is a great, intense ride.

I go on the Chaos a few times each time I visit Cedar Point, there isn't much room for your arms which makes me have bruises on them, but it's an awesome ride.
