Hey there! I'll be working at Sky Ride with you.
It's actually a pretty fun ride to work, and it IS the fastest paced ride in the park. When running all 37 cabins, we have only a 13 second interval. Working Sky Ride is sort of seen as a honor in the area, because it's Debra's favorite ride in the park.
And I'm not just saying this because I work Sky Ride, but it really is the crew that would make your summer great. Not your ride location. You should give it a chance, with Sky Ride it's incredibly likely that you will get cross-trained on other locations since we go down quite frequently for wind.
PS - you should totally join our crew page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/skyridecrew13/ and also add yourself to Point Placements http://pointplacements.clanteam.com

MillenniumSpork is right. Definitely give your location a chance. And at SkyRide, make sure you are wearing a watch! It's been a few years since I worked it, but I believe rotations are every 20 minutes and there aren't any clocks in both stations. It is definitely your manager's favorite ride, so she must have picked you to go there for a reason.
As for cross training, definitely talk to your Supervisor. Like MillenniumSpork said, SkyRide goes down a lot for wind, so the chances of getting trained somewhere else is very likely.
Watches are very important for Sky Ride! Because whenever you are at Trip, you call the shots. Rotation is every 15, 20 or 30 minutes depending on staffing / number of cabins that are running.
