My first season was in 1992 and a lot has changed since then.
Housing was a lot different. A lot more people lived on point back then. Cedars seemed to be a hub of activity and at close everyone seemed to be there. There were always lots of people hanging around the lounge. Commons area was a lot smaller and the parking lot across the street did not exist.
All employee activities were on-point. We still had the on rec center which at most times you were hard pressed to find a seat. The cafe basically is the same but the hours were limited back them and they didn't serve pizza. Movie nights were a lot more popular back then. We had ride nights but they wern't always on Monday and back then it was nothing to have 4 Magnum nights in a season. Big Bash is pretty much the same but Mean Streak was included. One special activity was a free screening of the Rolling Stone Imax movie.
Most departments had different uniforms. nametags were plastic and just had Cedar Point and your name. IDs were seperate. Rides had gender segregated crews. Frontietown rides had orange and brown uniforms. DT girls had the famous flouresent orange jumpsuits.
The amount for foreign employees was quite small and most were from England.
The park was open until 10 weedays the entire season. Midnight closings on Friday and sat. Midnight Fridays were great ride times if you were off work.
The season was over the first weekend in October and no Halloweekends.
