Change Name??

Would you think that CP would change MF's name since all the Y2K hype is over?? Just a thought that popped up in my head as i was driving to Sandusky.

NO! You don't spend a few million bucks on marketing for one name and then change it! (Yes, I know about Banshee/Mantis, but they changed it in days) Maybe in a few years, but probably not.

I hope they do change it in a few years. Something as simple as "Rollercoaster" would have been a better name. I still think that it's name is the worst of any other ride in the park.

I will admit that when I was first told that the name would be Millennium Force I was on the bandwagon that really didn't like the name. After a while though the name really grew on me, and then when I saw the new logo of simply the M it really grew on me and I like it a lot.

*On a side note I do think that Banshee was the best name and logo that Cedar Fair has next to the Ghost Rider name and logo(which is similar to Banshee)

I don't think it's a bad name. Too many dollars have been spent in advertising. I wouldn't mind their next coaster being called Banshee though.

Ummm... is anyone aware of the marketing video, the wall calendars, the hats, etc. with the "M" swoosh on it? Is anyone aware of the intense brand recognition the name has in the Cleveland market?

Have you looked at the home page of this site or any of the MF pages at the official site? That's the logo.

The swash in the logo forms the "M"

don't just call it the Force..."Luke, I am your father"....AGGGHHHHH!!!! just give it a Star Wars theme while you're at it... call it MF or Milly (like calling Magnum "Maggy")...by the way, do you think coasters are male of female (like boats and cars)? and yes, the name has grown on me quite a bit, too....but when i heard the reason for the Banshee/Mantis thing, i laughed and laughed and laughed!!!

You guys don't like the names they have now? Magnum XL-200 was shortend to just Magnum becouse people new the ride. Millennium Force will not become The Force becouse that could mean a lot of things and not everyone is going to know what the heck you are talking about. As for the Banshee name change the most logical reason (posted by someone on here) is that they could not get copyrights for the name.

MF is also short for another word in our language..very derogatory but never the less I can see this happening..LOL
