Hey, what cell phones get the best signal from Commons?
Sprint, Verizon, T-mobile? Anybody have big problems or are they pretty much all alright?
Thx!
I have Verizon and I am fine.

Are we allowed to keep our cell phones with us when we're working if they are kept on silent? Or are they not supposed to be brought with us at all?

You can have them but you they must be put away, you also can't be on them at all in guest view.

That makes sense. If I were a guest/customer I wouldn't want to see the employees yackin' on their phone while they're supposed to be working either,it's rude.

It got pretty bad last year when we weren't even allowed to have our cell phones in our pockets due to the amount of people violating this rule. The phone had be to kept in your bag or locker.
Not sure if this rule will continue in 2009 or if we will not have it unless it's another problem down the stretch.

The building is concrete/cinderblockd. Inside they are all pretty iffy at times.
.....It's a DEAD ZONE....
I've had pretty good luck with Verizon, but even so it's usually a good idea to be next to a window if you don't want static or dropped calls. Those buildings are like a bomb shelter. As for the phone at work, it's a good idea to not keep it with you if you think you'll be tempted to use it. I know some people like to use their phones to tell time, but I think it's easier to just buy a cheap watch.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

More than likely. It's all about safety and if you're on your cell phone while operating a ride...first of all it's rude, second of all it is a huge safety hazard.

Never caught a Rides Employee using their phone while at a ride location. Were there actually Rides Employees ballsy enough to do that?
On more that one occasion though (at least 4 that I can remember) I caught Rides Hosts on their cell phones but that was just while they were walking down the midway. Usually in the back between the Frontier Trail and Camp Snoopy.
verizon wirless all the way forgett about deadzones even the wireless internet from verizon really good for those who stay indoors all day but who really wants to do that theres so much to do while your working at cedar point. dont even worry about a cell phone you dont need them. 4000 employees and we mostly all get along and we all hang out.

I noticed it a lot last year when I was just in the park to ride stuff. It was almost always someone at an entrance or turnstile position. Once I saw someone on Dragster texting while giving their clear, but that's an extreme example, and I think it may have been a ride pride, although I'm not certain.

I had a guest borrow my phone probably once or twice in the season... I know it was probably not the right thing to do and they are supposed to use pay phones but I felt bad.. not doing that again though.
