ok not that im like a texting freak an have to have my phone with me an able to answer it all the time cuz im not but i was just wondering whats cp poilicy on cellphones for employees?
For a ride host, you cannot have your cell phone with you while on duty (not in your pocket - it must be in your bag away from you). You can only have it while on break. This does not include walking to and from break, just on break. It's a big no no if your caught walking to break and your texting or on the phone.

No phones on the Midway unless you are full-time. They must be business calls only. Even then, you have to try to limit it.
Foods: Phone must be off and in your pocket, you may use it at break.
It's probably the same for other departments as well, except for rides, which is noted above.

As a lifeguard if you are caught with your phone on you, you face immediate termination. If you are seen using it then you will be fired on the spot. Its actually a law against lifguard in safetey positions to have cell phones on them.

No matter what department you are in, there are to be no cell-phones used or seen on the midway unless you are a manager or I know of some supervisors that are allowed to use them.

Especially in rides, dont keep your phone in your pocket because we will see it!! Dont say you were checking the time thats why you have it in your pocket, thats what watches are for!! Just keep it away till you are in a break area!!

I miss the days (2008 and before) when they weren't crazy strict about cell phones in your pocket.

The way I see it though, as a person on a ride or counting on someone to save my life if I was drowning, I would want the person in control to have full attention. I see people that can never put their cell phones down and it honestly scares me.

(I know I was never a ride host, but I spend A LOT of time off / days off at the park ride rides / watching shows, etc, so I know A LOT). Even a person at crowd, height checking people have to have the full attention to that duty. If you can have your phone and your texting at this position, someone who is too short will walk right on by and ride the ride. And guess what? It's on you for letting him on.
Or even this year when I "playing" the role of Chralie Brown, I have to keep my phone on silent. I can't be in costume and have my phone go off. How awkward would that be to me and the escort?

I know during my years at CP, phones in public were always a no,no. The second year i actually had someone canned for it. Since he told me where to shove it when I asked him to put it away. It's rude and anyone who thinks staff should be able to should think as a guest. Would you like to think something is more important than you." I'll be with you in a moment, I need to text something". Or just plain ignore you. If your in uniform, your an employee, on break or not. Granted it looks like they tightened up on it since my day.

When I was there nobody cared if you had it on you (we all did) as long as you weren't using it when you shouldn't be. Apparently they've become more uptight about it.
i agreee it makes sense cellphones truely do get the best of ppl. some ppl when they have their phone infront of them its almost like they cant even hear you i hate that. i just wanted to know because i didnt want me to end getting caught on the rare occasion that i actually bring mine with me cuz even though i dont hardly use mine at all it always seems to get me in touble i hate that an im glad i asked thanks for the answers
