Cell Phones

Is cedar point really strict on cell phones? I noticed someone say that you can't use your cell phone to check the time, you have to use a watch. Are you allowed to bring them to work with you just incase of an emergency.

I have a serious addiction to my phone! Haha. I feel so empty without it

Yes they are. As far as I know the general policy is that you can bring it to work but you can not carry it on your person while you are on the clock. I know that's the case for ride hosts anyway. But I would imagine it would be the same for any department since you don't need your phone to get your job done.

Just as Ashley said... It can't be on your person at all. Sometimes, they'll even have "phone checks" where everyone has to show that they don't have their phone in their pocket at that given time. It never happened on my crew but I have heard of it happening at others.

I will do a phone check if theres an issue I have with an employee having them and ill do them speriotically to catch people off gard just to see if they actually are following directions. So far I've never had an issue.

Oh wow lol Okay! But you are allowed to bring them with you? You're just not allowed to have them on you right? What about for breaks?

yea you can bring them with you just when working or in the view of guest it must be kept away and at the location(at least with rides it needs to be somewhere other then on you.) for breaks you can have them just don't have them out walking to and from break unless its a backstage area.I hope this helps.

You cannot talk on your cell phone inside the Common Store as well.

I would have to agree. While walking to and back to the cafe, front gate, or anywhere in guest view, a guest may have a question (it will happen a lot during the summer). It doesn't look to good if the employee is preoccupied with his (her) cell phone or has ear plugs in.

I never agreed with the no phones in the commons store one that's one i didn't like because if i was on the phone with someone i would be like can't talk going into the store and they would like okay that's odd

I agree somewhat. While looking for food, heating it up, or putting money on my laundry card, there shouldn't be the issue of being on a phone. But, when waiting in line and paying for your things, being on the phone is one of the rudest things I think and it slows up the process so much.

They made me leave when I was on the phone with the laundry people... I was not even doing anything in the store except laundry... I think that rule is taken way to serious. It should only be for when making purchases or talking to the housing supervisors... In my opinion.
