celebrities and CP

just a thought... but what happens if say... Britney Spears, or Madonna.. someone like that, wants to ride TTD or visit the park.. do they rent the park out to them? or set up special ride times for them.? I cant see them waiting in a 4 hr line to ride TTD. Im sure they can't come on a regular operating day.. they could... it would be crazy though..

well, I'm sure to rent out Cedar Point for a day is more expensive than what Britney and Madonna are both worth. So my guess is that they wait four hours. Unless CP gives them a VIP pass, which I don't see being all to likely.
Not a chance that J. Random Celebrity will be made to wait in line. They'd get a VIP pass to the front of the line, I have no doubt about that.

Come on people, this poetry's not going to appreciate itself!

On May 23, 1997, the famous R&B singer, Aaliyah Dana Haughton was at the park, I don't know if she was offered special ride perks or not cause she did come out of guest relations, but she signed autographs for her fans and everything, but other than that she was with two guys, one appearing to be her body guard. But though she sold millions of records and what not, she was still waiting in line with the rest of the common folk. It was her hometown park kind of, she was from Detroit, Michigan around that time.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

Why would Cedar Point have any reason to treat somebody better than the rest of us? Britney Spears isn't going to bring anymore people than any ride does, after all, that is why we go to CP... for the rides, right? So why give her anything great? Let 'em wait.
Most celebrities get celebrity treatment because the places they go will start a business boom because they will create a buzz. Cedar Point probably wouldnt' need to give anyone any special treatment because they already have a buzz, their celebrities are the rides, not people. So I agree ith you voodoo.

I am adding this as an edit, now that I think about it, haven't some celebrities given special services at the resorts?

How about when WWE wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin showed up at the park a few years ago. It was reported here that C.P. public relations (or someone) escorted him through the park and up exit ramps for whatever coasters he rode, in addition to Millennium Force. And I believe Monica Lewinsky got the same treatment when she visited the park.
The main reason celebrities get special treatment is for their own safety as well as the guests.Believe it or not people will often gather in large numbers around celebrities. Some will want autographs and some will try to become famous by making a scene with the celebrity - thus the bodyguards.Besides, what is the extra wait maybe one train? It's worth it for the safety of everyone.

Im sure that some of the Hollywood celebrities could rent out Cedar Point for the day if the wanted to. My god, Jim Carry gets $60 million for each movie he makes, he can diffenetly afford it.
what do you think the price of renting the park is? I can't see it being cheap to pay for all those employees and to make up for all the money lost from public not entering on that day.
On Memorial Day, one of the WWE female stars was boarding TTD through the exit. I didn't know it was her (I pointed her out because of her looks to my brother) and he said she was a superstar. I don't remember who, but I took his word for it...

Six Flags: The AOL of Theme parks...

I think $60 million would cover Cedar Point for one day.
* Stone Cold was a fake.

* Monica was there to do a video shoot.

* Celebrities are normally escorted from ride to ride and walk up the exit.

* Micheal Jackson was to buy out the park on 9.12.01, but for obvious reasons that was cancelled.

I'd have to see some proof of the Michael Jackson story. 9/12/01 was a Wednesday and I highly doubt that Cedar Point would have opened the park up on a Wednesday during bonus weekends even for him.

When I worked at WDW I did see Jackson once while walking through the Utilidor. Actually, I caught a glimpse of him as he was surrounded by people. It was a regular day and the park was not closed to the GP.

maverick is exactly right and this was discussed in regards to Lebron James a while back. It is safer for everyone if the "celebrities" get some assistance in the parks.

I was there in June last year and was in line for Power Tower and the knoxville (sp?) crew was there they waited in line for about an hour.

Even is the Gorge Bush showed up he should still have to wait in line like the rest of us, well thats what I think.

The way I put it Six Flags needs more parks to keep up with the one and only Cedar Point :)

lol if the president of the United States showed up at Cedar Point there is no way he would have to wait, he'd be surronded by 100 secret service people, and come to think of it, im sure they would close down the park for him.

George W Bush wouldn't ever show up at the park - They don't want to take chances with him, and im sure they'd consider the rides and setting overall unsafe.

My friend saw Micheal Jordan with his family at the park in 94 or 95. He said Micheal was trying to ride Wildcat with his kids, but was obviously too big to fit in the ride, so he watched as his kids rode.

60 million?! Actually Jim Carrey makes a third of that, 20 million a movie.
Jim Carry made $60 million for "Batman Forever"

And if George W. wanted to go to CP theyd shut that place down so fast.
