Cedar's Question...

What comes in a Cedars dorm room, to the people that have lived there? CP's description is rather vague!

Thanks a lot!

CP's description is vague for a reason.

Bed. Dresser. Chair. Maybe a lamp.

here is an indepth description of cedars.

when you 1st see the building it looks like an big red barn but it's a transformed hotel from the old days it is also where the employee post office is located so make sure to visit it everyday if your expecting mail there. then there's the two swinging doors and a mini hallway where your personal mailbox are located and you enter another set of doors and you arrive at the front desk of cedars. to the left of the desk are the little housing store we have for pop, snacks, personal things and they're also rooms down there. to the right you have the posting board that has pizza coupons, info on ride nights and trips then internet-ready computers that cost $1 per minute and also the pay phone booths and through the doors you enter the tv room which now has cable and some vending machines and a pay phone that is also where your weekly pay checks will be cashed.right across from the front desk is the microwaves and toaster and behing the desk is a staircase that leads up to the 2nd floor rooms that over-look the parking lot infront of cedars.once you past the desk there you will walk through another set of swing doors that lead down a long hallway that leads you to the many different parts of cedars and you see another staircase and then a hallway with a long row of rooms and a bathroom on that floor and past that you'll see another hallway which is where the main side-by-side bathrooms/community showers are located and down from that is the laundry room and a whole bunch of hallways and staircases.

as far as rooms are concerned when you 1st arrive you'll notice the old green doors that squeak alot and sometimes your key maynot work and when you walk in you notice a plain-bare walled room with twin sized metal bunk-beds and another twin metal bed across from it with one big dresser and two little tables and a lamp and a phone on the wall and a old wood floor.

Offtopic: are you a fellow dutchman, or is it just a nickname? :)

I am of Dutch heritage. My family was among those that settled New Netherlands before the British showed up.

I thought Holland, Michigan was the New Netherlands? You'd think that if you saw the big fuss they put up around here about tulips.

I went to Sanduskey this past weekend TO GET AWAY from the crowds!

Actually the largest concentration of Nederlanders outside the homeland is in Ontario, Canada. They came over after WWII. Mostly dairy and hot houses (flowers) farmers.

Gee, flowers. Imagine that.

Would you like to see a tulip? I live less than a mile from a farm that boasts 5 MILLION of them (Half in bloom) and 5 times that amount scattered about this community.

I like roller coasters better.

Yes, coasters are good, but so is a draaiorgel!
