There's nothing better than taking a ride on MF or TTD at night. Night is the best time to ride any coaster in CP. But the downside, is the bugs. Its pretty sick when you wait in line for MF at night and bugs are all over every light and dead on the path, then after you're done riding it you pick the bugs off your face. When I was walking down the path along the beach back to Breakers, every inch of the path is covered with dead bugs. It's pretty sick. I think CP should look into getting some insectici
yeah i agree, the bugs are pretty sick it is controllable or they could atleast make the situation better. Agreed
There is nothing CP can do about the bugs, it's mother nature. The only thing we can hope for is a strong south wind to keep them from making it to land. Also turning lights off helps, but we gotta think about safety too.

Insecticides are a bad idea. Look what happened in the past.
Anyway, you can’t blame the bugs, they were here first. They're a vital part of our ecosystem and even a large scale removal on Cedar Point would have a decent affect on the surrounding environment.
The only thing we can do is ignore them. A few bugs won’t kill ya......unless they're ticks, or mosquitoes, then you can worry.
Wait! here's an idea, Cedar Point could introduce a small amount of bats to the area.;)
But seriously that would work if it could be done. A single insectivorous bat can consume over 600 bugs in one night!!! So imagine what a small colony could do in one week!!! But introducing a species that is not native to the area can have some serious consequences.........so it's a bad idea.
Plus, I'm not even sure if there are any species of bats in the Sandusky area. Does anybody know if there are any?

I wish I had some sort of "Down With Six Flags" Post-icide....
That is, something that will get rid of these horrible threads without harming the environment and killing the eagles.

I was hoping it was a thread about the lack of anything to do after the park closes.

Yeah, I was all ready with a "What Cedar Point night life?" response. But alas I was disappointed...
Of course we could "accidentally" meander off topic and discuss the lack of a night life anyway.

^ Okay, I'll start.
So the other day I was at the park and I tried to catch a round in the Snoopy Bounce, but sadly they said I was too tall so I went over to Millennium Force and when I came off the ride it was pitch dark so I figured - hey, what better time than pitch dark to head over to frontier land?.
Unfortunately, when I arrived at the entrance to the trail, there were security guards everywhere being jerks and wouln't even let me past. I bet there's an exclusive V.I.P. club back there at night. I'm bound and determined to get in to that V.I.P. club one day. I bet its held in the Red Garter. I bet its for JOE COOL members only.
Feeling somewhat discouraged by my new found "non -V.I.P" status, I decided to go to Johnny Rockets and grab a malt and maybe drop a few nickels in the jukebox. I thought about playing YMCA and watching the employees dance. Oh how I love it when they dance. I thought maybe I'd even join in and dance with them out on the midway. That ought to make for a fun night.
Well I went to Johnny Rockets and those idiots had the doors locked and the sign wasn't even lit up outside. They must have had the music up really loud inside because not one of them came to the door when I knocked. What is it with these employees these days?
By now I was just getting angry. THIS place was voted best park on the planet 8 years in a row? I'm thinking the results must have been rigged (monetarily if you know what i'm saying  ) I think to myself "a nice relaxing ride on the skyride is probably just what I need right about now...." so I walk toward the ramp to the skyride as I look and notice that it's not running. "There is a bit of a breeze out, I guess they decided to shut it down early due to the wind..."
So I think about riding Raptor but the damn ride is so unreliable that its broken!! This place has SOME NERVE, let me tell you. None of the employees are acknowledging my presence, all the rides are broken, and there's nasty water all over the sidewalk that smells like bleach. If that gets on the bottom of my jeans I'm going to lose it!
"UGH! thats it!" I mutter under my breath "I've had enough of this place I'm leaving because there is simply nothing to do!"
I have no idea how that came out, I just went with it :)

Here Here!!
If it wasn't for the smartasses... who would keep the dumbasses busy?
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
Wow Josh you write a lot of words over here.

2010 - Season pass holder.
Actually Allan, Bats turn away from loud objects and heavily crowded areas and only come out at night.....late at night.....like when everybody is gone.
Although there is always the possibility (low) of an accident happening.
But in any case it was just an idea.......we're all just going to have to ignore the problem and endure eating some nutritious bugs. Yummy! :)
CP could also get some heavy duty bug zappers....

You're worried about being bit by a bat? What about that duck/goose (whatever it was) that a Millennium Force train hit earlier this season? I'd take a bat over a duck/goose any day.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
