I know it will be a few years until CP gets another coaster but I'm just wondering what you would want or what you think will be built. I personally would want something to add to the dominating skyline, something taller than Millennium (I know, it won't happen) but that would be sweet, I don't know if I would want another Intamin because of the difficulties with the coasters though. So just leave your opinion or what you think will be next! :D
Top 5 Roller Coasters
1. Millennium Force 2. Top Thrill Dragster 3. Raptor 4. Maverick 5. Gatekeeper
Why all the hate for Intamin? They make my favorite rides in the park, Millennium and Maverick. I really don't care what their next coaster is, as long as it's a new coaster. I think it would likely take CCMR or one of the car rides place. I know CCMR is a good family ride, but I don't think it aged well, plus to me, it looks like the structure is deteriorating. Another negative is last time I rode it, it wasn't very fun.
Intamin makes great rides.....but those rides are also unreliable at times. More so than other manufacturers.
And don't count on CCMR going anywhere anytime soon. They replaced a lot of it's structure a few years back and will probably replace more in the years to come. Plus, it's still a popular family coaster.

I definitely agree that they make GREAT rides, I mean 3 out of my 5 favorites are built by Intamin. I also love the Intamin looks. I guess I'm a fan of Intamin, but at the same time I'm not.

For me I would like to see a record breaking dive coaster design in the bs area of the park or an el toro type of woodie somewhere, but like what others say i doubt a intamin will be there next coaster.
Another thing I might like would be a B&M flying coaster, that would be a nice thing to bring to CP because it would be new to the park!

Don't worry I got this.
1st. Iron horse Mean Streak (I love this ride but when only half the train has a good ride we need to think about an upgrade)
2nd. A Great Coasters International or Gravity Group wood coaster. starting from between Gemini and Mean Streak and heading to "adventure island" and back.
3rd. A Drop Coaster where the two car rides are in the front of the park, and move the car rides to "adventure island" and get rid of the robot dinosaurs.
4th. A Flying coaster in the place of Kiddie Kingdom. And a new and improved kids land between gatekeeper and the games, or in the place of the old Pirates Ride or in the place of Erie Estate
5th. A Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter right when you enter the park. In the place of the Hurricane food stand and Club Blood (zombie high)
I have more ideas but 5 roller coaster sounded like a good first ever post on point buzz.
What I think will be built:
2015, Kiddie/Family coaster similar to this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfS7-KzNHXw
Probably in the area between the Blue Streak Midway and Marina Entrance (by Good Time Theater) replacing Cadillac Cars, Turnpike cars, and stretching over to the Bay by the current Cedars Dorms (which will probably be torn down by then).
What I'd like to be built: fill in part of the lagoon, tear down Shoot the Rapids and Mine Ride(gasp!), and build a new themed coaster (which would fit right in w/Frontier town and Maverick)similar to this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmmteiM_K1Q
I am going out of the box here... A "Verboltenesque" family coaster. Why? Because we lost DT, leaving Iron Dragon as the only 46 inch coaster in the park. Granted, Verbolten has a height requirement of 48 inches. But Cedar Point hasn't added a 48 inch roller coaster since MF... (And even that wasn't 48 inches when it first opened.) Then you have to go back to 1991 with Mean Streak... So a thrilling enough ride with a low height requirement would be my vote.
I would say the next coaster will be something very family friendly like coaster rider or anything that has a height requirememt under 48 inches. But I think the next big coaster should be wood. I say that because CP is known as "Americas roller coast" and the have the number 1 steel coaster so why not want the number 1 wood coaster too?. Don't iron horse Mean Streak, take it out start over and build a great wood coaster.
The green train from Millennium landed under Magnum and that is what is causing Magnum to sink!!!
I would think its going to be a stand-up/flying, inverted, suspended, wing design that would incorporate every conceivable type of turn and loop, yet also pass through the eye of a entirely new space needle being built along side of it. It would also be the longest, fastest, and first construction entirely made out of recycled Coke product containers and carbon fibers so as to never require painting, and still be eco friendly.
It will be a enclosed in the old ballroom and pirate ride facilities with a tunnel under the midway to connect the two inside elements. The ride will also feature an "in ride meal and drink" service (an upcharge), and will be heavily themed to expand on the Boneville concept of characters.
Since the track will be made out of plastic, the outside sections of track will be illuminated at night with unique "fiber optic" effects.
I think it will make everyone on the message boards happy in some way, shape, or form.
1. Give Mean Streak the RMC treatment. I'd love this ride and would actually ride it if this was done. It would boost ridership and the park could advertise it like it's a new coaster. Call it Mean Streak Reborn or Revenge of Mean Streak.
2. If a park expansion is done with a new midway connecting the area near Blue Streak to Celebration Plaza (including the rerouting of Perimeter Rd. and the demolition of Cedars dorms), I'd like to see 2 new coaster. In the spot of Turnpike Cars and possibly Cadillac though I feel like at least these might still be able to stay, I could see a new wild mouse coaster, preferably a Mack E-Motion coaster. http://www.mack-rides.com/en/products/coasters/e-motion-coaster/c-ec-info/c-ec-info.html
For the 2nd coaster which would be in the location of Cedars, I'd want either a Dive Machine or floorless.
3. A GCI or GG wooden coaster on Adventure Island. This would be the year Dinos are removed. It would be family friendly yet still very thrilling.
4. Intamin Pre-fab woodie. I absolutely love El Toro and would do anything for CP to get something like it.
5. B&M Hyper coaster. I know we already have Magnum, but I love B&M hypers and the ride experience would be very different.

I agree with you that CCMR won't go anywhere, but I wouldn't say replacing structuring means that it will stay. Replacing the structure could be something that had to be done in order to keep it as safe as possible.
a b&m hyper coaster would be great but we have the magnum but a b&m hyper would have a differnet experiance like open air trains and multipule big airtime hills
A dueling/racing hyper coasters. new b&m hyper vs Classic Magnum. who will win?!
Need a ride from ONU
A world class wooden coaster is what's needed. Something that could compete with the Golden Ticket woodies.

I agree, I dont know how likely it would be but I would love to see a dive coaster, an El Toro type woodie, or even a B&M hyper/mega coaster as the next big coaster.
^I couldn't agree more.

Aka general maintenance. ;)
My point is that just because it "looks" like it's deteriorating or isn't fun for a few people, doesn't mean that it should be removed. Compared to all the other rides, CCMR is one of the easier coasters to take care of. So its maintenance costs aren't high and its attendance, while I'm sure not super high, isn't going to justify it's removal imo.
Of course, it has a life expectancy (as do all the other rides) and it's really up to the park to decide what to do with it when it's "expected life" is up. But I still don't see it going anywhere soon.
