Alright, question. When do they you think CP will get a new and good woodie?
Just rode Mystic Timbers this past weekend and it was an incredible ride. CP needs to find a way to get a good woodie like this or the Beast. Woodies seem tough to be a hard catagory to hit a home run in. Even Kings Island who has two of the best in my mind have had their issues, Son Of Beast.
Cedar Point never lets me down with new coasters, Mean Streak was awesome when it first opened and got worse as time went on.
Thoughts?
My guess would be sometime in the next few years. If SRF gets the bulldozer, I could see them putting a GCI in there that would go through that space, what's left of STR's footprint and Dinosaur Island when those go away.

Valravn Rides: 24| Steel Vengeance Rides: 27| Dragster Rollbacks: 1
I wouldn't want to see either of those attractions go away for a coaster. Losing SRF and the dinosaurs would leave a really nice area for a top tier family water ride. Something that gets riders splashed but not soaked with an interesting layout, special effects and some theming along the course. CP doesn't need to lose diversity in rides for yet another coaster.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I wish SRF was located in Cedar Shores...I always want to ride it but I hate walking around the park soaked! To bad they can't dismantle it and relocate it.
Still want a woodie like one of those at KI. Mystic Timbers is awesome but a beast like coaster would be sweet.
Never.
CP likes size/records in its coasters. Wooden coasters can only go so far before they start tearing themselves apart, or, as Staaber notes, "got worse." Other CF parks may get wooden coasters, but the "Big Park" will get big coasters. That means steel track.

Valid point....

Maverick?
There's still creativity available for records.
An old school Cyclone style along the beach past wicked twister towards the parking lot and back would be classic.

like this or the Beast
EW. EW. EW. The Beast is terrible. I hope CP does NOT get a mild coaster like The Beast.
RMC Mean Streak: 215ft Tall, 75mph, 4 inversions. 2020)ALL BLACK B&M Flying Coaster on Millennium Island. 2023 or 2025) Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter like Takabisha
I agree with CP Flyin'. I always said The Beast suffers from the same problems Mean Streak did. Trimmed to death, long, boring, and a bit rough. The thing that saves Beast for me is probably the double helix, though.
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
The Beast easily bests most of CPs steels along with any wood.

I honestly can't see how you think that. To me it seems like a ride that has seen it's better days, has uncomfortable trains, and travels at a very slow pace through wide turns and straight sections with a good helix at the end.

The Beast, boring? Mild? Am I in the Star Trek mirror universe? Sorry, Go Intamin, I have to disagree with you. Beast is one of the very best coasters.
A recreation of the Cedar Point Cyclone would be most welcome.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

-ride that seen its better days: Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Magnum, Corkscrew. (Not including recently
Redo of Mantis)
-uncomfortable trains: Corkscrew, Blue Streak, Mine Ride, Magnum, Gatekeeper. (Not including redo of Mantis)
-slow pace wide turns: Gatekeeper, Valravyn, Gemini.
And that's with Mean Streak out of the mix or the kiddy coasters.

Do you have any more of that primo crack you're smoking? I'm asking for a friend.
But seriously, this is delusional. The Beast is fantastic for what it is - a classic, adventurous journey through the woods that was a game-changer in its day. But compared to modern coasters? Once you take away the nostalgia factor it simply doesn't deliver the same amount of fun.
I look at it this way - if you built The Beast today, how would it be received?

I think the Beast at night is terrific - a must see attraction at KI along with Banshee, Diamondback, and Mystic Timbers. I don't think CP could ever replicate something like that because half of the charm and awesomeness of the Beast is because you go way out into the woods and it's pitch black. There's nowhere in CP that's like that. They could build a nice woodie more along the lines of Mystic Timbers on the island and it would sort of be in the woods and they could make it pretty dark if they tried and could be a great ride in its own way, but it won't be the Beast.
It's like when Dorney, Valleyfair, WOF, etc built their hypers that look almost like Magnum. They are smoother and more modern, but without the location on the lake and the more classic out of control feeling Magnum gives, they just can't compare. It's not to say they are really bad rides. They just aren't Magnum.

^^If I could bottle and sell the excitement that the Beast gives over Mine Ride, Gemini, Blue Streak, Corkscrew, Twister, Iron Dragon, (former MeanStreak), Magnum, Valravyn or Pipe Scream I would donate the money for CF to build a proper Woodie (because the last thing CP needs is another Immelmann).
