cedar point vs. kings island

me and my wife took aa trip to kings island saturday and we had a very bad time there. none of the rides were exciting and the ride ops were just hittin buttons like it was just a stupid little ride.i was concerned about safety the whole time.plus there were only like two ride ops for each ride. and so we kinda compared pki to c.p. all day.

son of beast was not even fun ,no air time or sense of speed what so ever.

face off whipped you around to the point of blacking out

beast was fun but only a 5 out of 10 in my book

delirium was accually the only ride i enjoyed

didnt even ride vortex cause we had before and it was just plain loopage

other rides had no air time or thrills that we were looking for

and the kids were everywhere and im not talking about little kids but like teenagers with no parents were abbundantly anoying.

dont get me wrong with 2 kids of my own at 10 and 12 but the kids part of the park was really cool, but it was just me and my wife cause the kids were staying with their grandmother for the weekend so we decided to go with our free tickets. but as for multi million dollar rides they were just stupid.

we missed the "welcome back riders how was your ride" on every ride it was just get out and leave.

no one seemed to thrilled about there day,as we werent either.so then we said well now thats why we dont go to kings island.would much rather be on TTD M.F. Wick.Twist Maggy and so much more.

we still had fun just because we were together but we could have had the same fun somewhere else like on a park bench or in the car.

just wanted someone to agree with me and not bash me for my post.

I agree with you on some of the things that Kings Island needs to improve on. On thing you didn't say, is that gum that people spit out on the ground and then it turn's black. SOB to me is a wast of money and time, from the fact that it's just way to rough and violet, and that lap bar is like straping a bar clamp on to your legs (the ones used for wood or medal). My legs get such a pounding, that they both turn yellow, black and blue.

Its also like so many of there coasters are rough. Cedar Point doesn't have that many rought ones. The kind that make your legs heart.

I don't think the KI ride ops ever say welcome back. Only some times The Beast ops say things like that a night.

It so amzing the way Genimi is smooth in a way, but the steel coasters at PKI that were built after the Genimi are not smooth.

I could write a book on the things PKI needs to improve on.

If I lived closer to CP it would be my home park to visit. But PKI is closer. I don't mind going to Pki but, Cedar Point in my books is much better mantained and Cleaner. The walk paths smell better.

I alwas look forward to going and enjoying Cedar Point.

Kings Island is nothing compared to Cedar Point. Kings Island builds rides to themeing of movies that are produced by Paramounts Pictures. They really could use a Millennium Force, Raptor, and Mantis. I live so close to PKI, that it's my home park as well. My parents are planing on moving up there in the future, but until then, it's a three hour drive to enjoy the greatest Amusement Park on Earth.

With PKI as my home park, I would agree with you on everything accept for the fact that you rated the Beast as onlay a 5 out of 10. Maybe it has just grown on me over the years, but I just love that ride. I definentaly agree that PKI needs a hyper/giga/something tall, fast, and smooth. All of the recent children's rides are starting to make me angry. *** Edited 11/2/2004 12:01:51 AM UTC by TopThrill420120***

Coaster Count: 147

Oh another funny point is i threw my cigarette down and i told my wife "hey i bet no one picks this up"

Ok I just wrote a huge reply to help my claim and accidentally deleted it before I posted...

I just had to Jump in on this.

Basically you cannot compare CP to PKI because of the way the two parks are ran. As well as the coasters and variations of different rides each park has to offer. While CP builds taller faster than any other park in the world. PKI builds things that know one would ever think of. Rides that circle around a basic theme of entertainment. Weather it be movies or television. PKI holds their own when it comes to thrill rides and roller coasters with some of the most innovative in the world.

CP is one of the most breathtaking parks just to look at from far away and just to walk around inside and admire such engineering genius.

PKI is just beautiful in fact that it is surrounded by forest and it has the most beautiful park entrance in the world. The different themed sections of the park add a definitive mark to the park that is unmatched by any other in the industry.

So what the real title of this thread should be is Traditional and World Record Breaking VS. Unique and Powerful in it's own right. That my friend is not comparable.

And too the person who said that its amazing that Gemini is smoother than PKI rides that were built after it... that makes absolutely no sense. I didn’t know you could compare a Arrow with tubular steel track and wooden supports and a lap bar, To an Arrow mega coaster with 6 inversions and shoulder restraints.

Please read this and this. This is not the place for PKI bashing, or, actually, PKI discussion at all.
