The only one who sounds like they are fired up here is you.

Count me in with the people who don't see why waiting another minute or so for the next train should make anyone mad. I think the VIP system at CP is pretty dang fair.

Now if it were a situation like I've heard happening at some Six Flags parks where you have a 1 train operation and half the train is consistently being filled by Flash Pass people, then I could see being upset. But complaining about waiting an extra train or two is pretty sad.

...a Chevy and a Mercedes has nothing to do with why one would want to cut everyone in line: "Well I am thinking of doing the VIP tour because I can't stand even waiting 15 minutes for a ride."

No, it's a reasonable comparison. The guy in the Mercedes wants to be able to accelerate faster/hear his music through better speakers/put his ass on nicer leather/etc., so he pays a premium price for it. You, either because you can't or don't want to, don't pay that premium price. As such, you don't get the premium product. Explain to me how this is unfair to you. Our Country does not guarantee life, liberty and equal comforts for all.

...it really and truly isn't fair that somebody who has the money is allowed to cut everyone else who waited their turn.

What?!? Not fair?!? That person EARNED that money. Are you suggesting they're not free to spend it as they see fit? How is that fair?

And quite frankly the whole "life isn't fair" and "this isn't a governmental issue" comment is some bull crap btw.

That's hilarious. Yeah, because it's the government's job to make sure that if you want a Mercedes, you should get it, regardless of whether you've worked for it.

Just... wow, man.

I had ankle surgerly last year to remove a plate from a previous surgery. I was told by my doctor I could go to Cedar Point and ride everything, but I shouldn't stand and should get a wheel chair to keep the swelling down. So I did and I used Cedar Points special access.

Not one time did I ever hear anyone complain about me being loaded in the train before them after they waited in line. Its not that big of a deal especially now that they only allow 2 guests from the party to have that access. So its not like 9 people are cutting in front of you.

I disagree that the comparison is reasonable. Someone paying a premium for better speakers has no impact on the person who bought the standard speakers. Someone paying a premium to cut to the front of the line has an impact on the person in line who bought the standard park entrance ticket.

Not saying I agree with the thought that paying to cut is wrong. In fact I paid to cut two weeks ago at Magic Mountain. I had a chance to hit that park and wanted the ability to ride everything since who knows if I will ever get back there again. Turns out I did not need the platinum flash pass since the park was dead but I looked at it as a cheap insurance policy against the park being packed which would likely have meant I could not ride every thing.

My only experience with the VIPs at Cedar Point has been on very slow days in which I just laugh at the people who wasted all of that money. They are not slowing me down so I don't care. I suppose that is exactly how people looked at me with my flash pass.

Serious question: How do you define a slow day at Cedar Point?

Less than 15 minute wait for popular rides

15-30 minute wait

30-60 minute wait?

hahaha well I'm sorry you feel that way but I'm as calm as can be. Just don't put words in my mouth...That's all.

djDaemon, you're one of the ones putting words in my mouth and you try to start an argument with everyone on this site so your non sense isn't even worth replying to.

I don't remember saying that if you have some kind of disability it isn't fair to the GP. There's a difference with needing special assistance opposed to simply not WANTING to stand in line.

And thank you Shades. Atleast you see what I'm trying to say. I never said nobody should have the right to do the VIP tour, I just don't agree with it. And yes, I have seen people do it on slow days and I have laughed before because that really is a waste of money. $300+ a person?

And how do you know the difference between someone who has paid for VIP as opposed to someone who is using Parent Swap or handicapped access?

And to you it is a waste of money. Of course, if I've got millions in the bank, $300 is pocket change.

I wonder if GLFan is familiar with projection. :)

Yep, Dj's my friend there too. I don't think he's the one with no friends.

2 - if you have a valid argument, you shouldn't need to resort to a paragraph of personal insults to defend it.

And hopefully you never plan on going to Six Flags. Their pay-to-cut system is much much cheaper and more widely used.

GLfan, I didn't say you said those things, just teling you about my observation. On Dragster and Millennium Force, the people waiting didn't see me load up before them and couldn't see the bandage and gauze on my foot when my train pulled into the station to be loaded. On some rides I simply walked up the exit like Gemini. Its a pain in the ass to be in a wheel chair all day and is just as tiring as walking and no one said a damn thing. I remember one kid asking why I got to use the elevator on Raptor, but no one questioning or getting angry at me not waiting in line while they did.

Its really not that big of a deal.

Heck, if I had the money laying around, I'd do it for a Saturday during Halloweekends in a heartbeat. Being able to skip the haunted house lines as well as the ride lines would definitly be worth the 300 bucks.

Why is this entire thread, including names, now locked in italics?

JuggaLotus's avatar

It started here probably with an improperly deleted italics end tag [ / i ].

It'll be fixed once the thread rolls to page 3.
