Cedar Point VIP Questions

Hello all. I am new to the board. I am thinking about doing the VIP tour at Cedar Point next Saturday and had a couple of questions. How many VIP tours do they allow each day? How long are the regular lines on Saturdays in May? Any other comments about the VIP tour are appreciated! Thanks.

Saturdays in may aren't that bad. From my experience anyway. :)

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

Well I am thinking of doing the VIP tour because I can't stand even waiting 15 minutes for a ride. I went a few years ago on a weekday before the kids got out of school and the lines were pretty bad. Must have caught a bad day!

Can't wait for 15 minutes? I would love to wait 15 minutes for every ride at CP lol. Patience is a virtue..

First time to Cedar Point was opening day 2009, 7 hours in line for TTD, 2 rollbacks =)

Yeah, waiting really isn't that bad. Just balance the rides right!

Yeah ummmm that is pretty bad that you can't wait more than 15 minutes for a ride and you're willing to do a VIP so you don't have to stand in line. IMO I think that kind of thing offered at an amusement park is bull! Because I stood in line the whole time and waited an extra 20 minutes for the front seat, you get to cut everyone whenever you damn well please because you had the money to do the VIP tour. Not fair at all

Cedar Point is free to offer various pricing options, and fairness doesn't enter into it. It's not as if this is some sort of governmental action that violates the equal protection clause or something. It's the action of a private company. It's also not as if VIP guests really have much of an effect on the average parkgoer's day.

That being said, are we all free to look upon people who shell out this sort of cash for this privilege as petulant little douches? Yes, of course.

If someone wants to pay the money to do a vip tour more power to them. Its not like they can just sit and marathon the dragster all day either, after they ride one ride they have to go to another attraction before coming back to it. Everyone has the ability to save up and do the vip tour but if your to lazy to want to work and get ahead in life than dont complain about those who choose to.

Well, now that I know that this package comes with a free bag of potato chips, I might have to reconsider.

If you are going to book something for next Saturday, you need to do it quick because that day is almost sold out and the next 3 Saturdays after that already are sold out.

I noticed that but I have to wait until closer to the date. I want to make sure the weather forecast holds up. If it sells out then I will just go on a Sunday instead. I wonder how many VIP tours they allocate for each day?

Go read what I posted in your other thread that you created to ask the same question.

I never did say that you didn't have the power to purchase the VIP pass, I was simply giving my opinion on it so take it or leave it without getting fired up about it on an online forum ;)

Break Trims, The people who do the VIP tour who cut ahead in line annoy A LOT of the park goers FYI. Nobody said that they ruin their day, but when the average working male/female does actually have to save up to buy regular admission tickets for their family to have a nice little vacation, it kinda sucks watching these people enter through the exit to take that seat you have been waiting for. VIP stands for Very Important Person...You're not important at all doing the VIP tour just because you simply don't want to stand in line so you can cut everyone who paid the regular ticket price.

What does working and getting ahead in life have ANYTHING to do with my opinion on why I am not a fan of the VIP tour. I'm in college busting my butt while majoring in Mechanical Engineering, so don't talk to me about being to lazy to want to work hard and get ahead in life, when I've always been the person that wants to be the best at everything I do from football to wrestling to school to work.

Why even bother with an amusement park if you don't like the actual enjoyment from standing in line (sometimes it has it's pluses). Like I said, you're not a VIP if you just have the extra money on your card to swipe away just so you can cut everyone because you're too impatient or possibly too lazy lazy to stand in that line. I'm very aware as to what the policy is for the VIP tour and the order as to how you have to ride, but it still just doesn't make it right.

Final thought, I don't agree with it and if nobody likes my opinion, that's fine you don't have to, but don't sit here and talk about how everyone else is basically a failure at life just because they don't have the money to piss away on a stupid 'perk' to cut ahead of everyone because you yourself are too lazy to stand in that line.

So if all I can afford is a 10 year old Chevy, should I be mad at the guy in the lane speeding off in a brand new Mercedes? Am I inconvenienced because he can get to work quicker than I can? Not at all. Life isn't fair. If people have the money to buy a VIP day at the Point, good for them. They limit the amount of VIP tours every day so it's not like while waiting in a one hour line for Millennium Force you will be cut by 100, 50, or even 20 people.

^ Ok now did you read my entire post, or did you pick out the one and only thing that caught your eye that you really wanted to comment on? That was the worst comparison by the way because it had absolutely no relevance to what I am trying to say because a Chevy and a Mercedes has nothing to do with why one would want to cut everyone in line: "Well I am thinking of doing the VIP tour because I can't stand even waiting 15 minutes for a ride."

Okay now don't lie even though I know half of you who respond to this will, but pretend you're waiting in line for Dragster for about 2 hours, then 20 more extra minutes for the front seat. It is now your turn next to enter the train but as you see your specific train roll in the station you see 2 people sitting in your seat! What goes through your mind? What do you hear from the other guests around you? Negative feedback as to how that is not fair, now am I right or wrong? But why do we have these thoughts rolling through our minds and hear it all around us? Because it really and truly isn't fair that somebody who has the money is allowed to cut everyone else who waited their turn. And quite frankly the whole "life isn't fair" and "this isn't a governmental issue" comment is some bull crap btw.

Don't worry about me taking the front seat. I always sit in the back as it is the best ride on a roller coaster!!

I've been in that situation where the train pulls into the station with people in my seat. I didn't moan and groan about it. If I've waited 2 hours and 20 minutes, what's another trains wait? It may not even be VIP riders, it could be parent swap participants.
