Cedar Point to install new sign

Gemini's avatar
Cedar Point will install a two-part identification sign at the corner of Cleveland Road and Cedar Point Drive. The 5-foot sign will read "Cedar Point" in bright colors. Behind that will be a 16-foot interchangeable sign that will display Peanuts characters or Halloween ads.

The sign should be installed by mid-May.

I am very glad to hear that, and I can't wait to see it.

Awesome! A great park deserves a great sign.

I always wondered what happened to the sign. Any clues?

Well, it's about time!

Next I hope they do something about dressing up the road through there, so as to make it look like the gateway to the World's Biggest Amusement Park.

I always thought that unless you really knew, you would miss the turn for cedar point.

Good to see a new sign coming.

The only thing worse than people who make grammar mistakes are the people who have to point it out every ****ing time.

Although my truck knows the route by heart, I often wondered why CP had NO signs on the way from Columbus to Sandusky? There is the occasional how many miles till Sandusky sign but until you actually hit Sandusky there is no Cedar Point this way sign.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

I'm also glad to finally see a sign again. Like Rob said, as a younger kid that always used to be the sign that meant you were close. I guess I'll have to come in that way sometime this season to see it.

Thanks, Gemini! I didn't know that thread/post even existed.
Actually, Jo, if you're going up from Columbus, the first road sign for Cedar Point actually points away from the park. The sign at OH-2 says "CEDAR POINT >" when we all know that the most direct route to Cedar Point from there is "^" :)

There is another place where the road to Cedar Point is anti-marked. If you approach from the East on US-6, when you get to the end of the Chaussee, there is a sign that says, "CEDAR POINT ^" even though going ">" there technically puts you *on* Cedar Point.

(On really busy days they open up that sign to reveal another version that reads, "CEDAR POINT ^ >")

Ok, I know this is a retarded question, but maybe, I'm retarded. How do you guys make the smileys in the forum posts?

Just type in: (not the words just the symbol ;))

Smile: "colon" + "right parenthesis"

Frown: "colon" + "left parnethesis"

Wink: "semi-colon" + "right parenthesis"

edit: Just to clarify, don't include the plus signs or the spaces. Just put the symbols right next to each other.

It's worth noting that the parser in this forum has some other, undocumented limitations. There are <certain characters> that have to be "escaped" üsing the HTML escäpe character cödes. Nötable among these are the <less than> and <greater than> symbols.

Knöwing some HTML codes may be seen as a Good Thing™ :)

I can remember the old sign. On school trips everyone would sing "I saw the sign!". Dumb I know, but having a new sign will bring back my younger years. I can't believe I said that at the age of 20! Man I'm old!:)

Talk about a cross generational song. . .I LOVE "I Saw the Sign!" How DARE you say it's dumb to pay tribute to Ace of Base? They were the Aces of BASE for God's sake! Do you not understand that!? Ohhh but it's funny that you sang that song when you. . .well, SAW the SIGN. We did that on field trips as well. Ahhh the innocent days of childhood. ;)
