cedar point sign

True - but we all know that CP is very protective of these numbers.

Why is that??? I think they would be proud to sport those numbers around??
I suppose anyone who is at the intersection where that wonderful old sign used to stand probably knows they're getting close to Cedar Point--still some kind of sign would be nice. Seeing that sign always made me smile---it was like seeing an old friend from a distance, knowing you'll soon be close enough to say hello.
I used to drive through on 6 in the off season, and that sign really made me miss the park, but I never really looked at it when going to the park when it was open, kind of weird huh?

if I used spell check on this post, this signature will not have any misspellings!!!!
What amusement park doesn't have some sort of something telling people, HEY YOU'RE HERE! Pony up the dough boys and get a sign at the entrance like everyone else has.
I think I sign would be a very good investment.

How about a rollercoaster sign? It will be called the CP coaster and take you all the way to the main gate. It could be one of those switchback railway type deals. Put a parking lot over the one marsh and people can take a Coaster to the greatesr coaster park in the plannet. I giant coaster would make a good sign, and tell people they are at Cedar Point. This has had to be the most stupid of my stupid post yet.

They could set up a sign of each coaster in the order they were built every few miles leading up to the point!
gemini dream, how is this post stupid???i had a question about the big cp sign that used to be by the radison hotel.i wanted to know what happend to it.
I think he meant HIS post was stupid, not the thread, hothitz.

I think that you can tell you're there when you are driving up the causeway and you see all of the coasters in the horizon. To me that is the greatest sign of any amusement park.

I always thought it went in this order.
1.Forum (General, MF),
2.Thread/topic (cedar point Sign,)
3.Then post (like my stupid post). I would never call this THREAD stupid. It was a great question, better than anyone of mine. Thanks for backing me up BSG!

Sorry to dig this topic back up, but I have a question regarding the old sign. When the sign was dismantled, did anyone get a piece of it? I would have loved to at least got the "C":

Wasn't the original Disneyland sign auctioned off in pieces? I thought John Stamos (Uncle Jesse from Full House) got the "D", if not all the letters from the sign:

Since this thread was brought back, I this that would be a great idea. Just along the road leading up to the park, it would be great.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Except every time Cedar Point builds a new coaster they would have to put up a whole new set of signs because the newest one would have to be the closest to the park.

Sorry to dig this topic back up, again 3 years later, but there's
