CEDAR POINT RECORD HOLDERS?

I once had nine different bowel movements in one day at the park. That was a completely different kind of power riding... ;)

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

One of our regulars at Raptor now has of 7,000 Lifetime Raptor rides (Not sure on his exact number though). He is usually in the park every Sunday and rides all day. One random Sunday in 2009 while I was working at Raptor he broke his personal best day record and rode 125 times in a single day.

Anything under 200 Rip Cord flights in one season is not impressive to me ;)

Unfortunately we had way too many people who also enjoyed test flights that season. I still managed more than anyone else despite getting a late start.

I hold the record for most days spent at a park expressly not trying to ride as much as I could, and instead focused on simply enjoying my day.

Setting personal records is how some people enjoy their day dj. I realize the majority of people don't do that.

I would never have done what I did if it wasn't for the Coasting for Kids charity event. In fact, it probably wouldn't even be possible. My next highest ridership for one ride in one day was probably at the construction tour for Kentucky Rumbler. I think I had 30+ rides. It was the only ride open. And then Maverick Media Day where I think I had about 20-30 rides. If there was more media there to talk to, I wouldn't have ridden as much.

As long as you're not shoving people out of your way in your quest to ride as many times as you can, more power to you.

Freak;)

I once knocked over all the stacked cans and won a prize in the arcade!

There was a terrible storm the week before and everything in the area was wiped out - except the can's, which were still standing after the storm passed.

I believe Cedar Point also holds the record for the most oval shaped hoops at the free-throw game. Combine basketball hoop that isn't round with an over inflated basketball, and you got a moneymaker that will always set a record!

It's amazing you say that Steve considering how many basketballs I see around the park every day and how many of those I have to tell people can't ride with them on our ride.

Ya I'm 100% sure the hoops aren't oval shaped. We have to send so many guests to the lockers and back up the exit for the same reason at Disaster Transport.

well if you wanna talk about Official records in the Guinness record book says

"Chris Linn (USA) was able to scale 114 playing cards from his right hand to clear a set distance of 3.6 m (12 ft) within 60 seconds at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, USA on 23 October 2005."

Im not even sure what that means lol here are a few more interesting records.. not at CP though

"Richard Rodriguez (USA) rode the Pepsi Max Big One and Big Dipper roller coasters at Pleasure Beach, Blackpool, UK for 405 hr 40 min from 27 July to 13 August 2007."

I actually have no clue where that took place. dose anyone know?

"The greatest number of different roller coasters ridden in a 24 hour period is 74, by Philip A Guarno, Adam Spivak, John R Kirkwood and Aaron Monroe Rye (all USA) on 9 August 2001. The four rode coasters in 10 parks in four US states, using helicopters to travel between them."

Ensign, can you type up a trip report for that one?

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

I thought about doing so back then, but I was pretty pooped at the time. ;)

Got my own page on the cedar point blog!!!

My personal best was 53 coasters on 5/26/08

Millie - 25, TTD - 15, Maverick - 11, Magnum - 2

Followed by 49 coasters on 5/27/08

Millie - 20, TTD - 6, Maberick - 10, Magnum - 3, Raptor - 10

Crowds were very small due to being early in the season and it was rather cool and overcast both days.

Personal best coaster record, 2010, Gemini, 89 laps in one day. Non-coaster record: 1976, Troika, 31 times in a row while my big sister waited an eternity for a ride on Corkscrew.

We used to marathon Blue Streak when the entrance and exit were next to one another and the trains would dispatch with a crew member riding the running board. On slow nights you could average about 24 rides per hour for as long as you could stand it.

Just say no to trims

I have always wanted to do these wonderful things, but I live about 3 hours away (suburb of Detroit) and when I make my annual pilgrimage out to CP, I want to get the whole park experience. Perhaps if I lived a little closer to the park, I would find it worth it to get a platinum pass, and try out riding the same coaster all day. Before I worked at CP last summer, the most I have ever been to the park is only 3 days in a season. And that was a biiiiig deal for me.

Gotta say, I'm pretty jealous of you record holders :P

Still though that is nothing compared to Jason :)

:)

I was wondering if anyone would bring it up. 142 rides on Gemini in 10 hours. Only got up once to move from one train to the other when the park opened.

I sent Jason around Gemini 142 times in 10 hours... Minus the occasional break to eat those yummy subs and chips!
I sure hope to see you all at Coasting for Kids again this coming season.
