Cedar Point on a rainy day?

How sensitive are they to closing Dragster in the rain? Like, would they close it if it was just a slight mist?

Also, about how long does Dragster open back up after rain closures?

Dragster closes if there's a drop of rain. It will reopen if there is no rain.

Last year when I went it rained and stormed heavily one afternoon. I rode Mean Streak in the rain that day and watched people riding the Cadillac Cars in an all-out downpour. I remember the first rides to re-open as the rain was dying off were Wicked Twister, Mantis, Magnum, and PT. But everything else was up soon except Wildcat. CP doesn't seem to use weather as an excuse to leave rides closed. I remember being impressed by how quickly the park rides sprang back to life almost the moment the storms and rain had stopped.

A ride op once told me that they wait at least a half hour after the last raindrop to reopen TTD. I remember a few times waiting in the rain right near the station on Millium. Actually that happened the first time I rode it. But they have a person watching the forecast and when they call to say its cleared up then they can reopen the ride. Many rides will run in the rain though. I went on the frost seat of Raptor in the rain once...don't do that...it didn't feel good. But another time I went on Power Tower and we were coming down at the same speed as the rain. All the raindrops are frozen in motion. It really cool. You should try to see it sometime,

You can tell when things are gonna get wet when the Sky Ride closes. To my knowledge, that is the longest ride to prepare for rain.

Things I do when it Rains:

1. Ride and Roller Coaster Open.
2. Go to the Arcade.
3. Get my Shopping Done.
4. See a Show.
5. Eat [If it's that time]

Last Resort: Go back to Breakers.

And about Millennium in the rain. Very Very Fun :D

Just got back from one of the rainiest evenings I have ever spent there.

Dragster was closed most of the time, I think I saw it launch5 or 6 times with people.

Millenium ran, Jugga and I rode in the back. Rode Maggie with Jerry and Jugga in the rain.

Wicked Twister closed during a heavy down pour. Other than that everything ran pretty well and consistent. Walk ons for damn near everything.

millenium force in the rain or right after a downpour is definitely fun! I have done it several times and it can really pick up some extra speed when the track is slippery from rain (as if 93 miles an hour is not fast enough!)

oh, and I must add that riding millenium 5 minutes after it has been raining frezing cold rain for over and hour and being soaked from head to toe after being in line in the rain and then coming off the ride completely dry is a great experience... although my hair dired into this wind tunnel shape that stayed with me the rest of the day :-)

I was there one day when it was sprinkling, and TTD was left open when it sprinkled, but when the drops got a little bigger they would close it, but open it as soon as possible.

Jugga demon drop wouldn't be that bad, actually i'd be more worried about wildcat. If demon drop overshoots, which i've seen it do many times, then it just hard stops in the emergency breaks after the reverse drive. Not really that big of deal by comparison to a wildcat car crashing into another wildcat car.

oh and another ride that goes down for rain... disaster transport! Yeah try explaining to guests that our INDOOR RIDE IS DOWN FOR RAIN. they really need to get that fixed. It wouldn' t be that expensive.

I was about to mention that. My friends and I got a kick seeing the "closed due to weather conditions" in front of that ride.

Yesturday was probably the best day that I've ever had at the Point. We rode every major attraction, usually multiple times. I had been trying to convince my friend to ride Dragster all day, since it really didn't rain for most of the day, but she was pretty adamently against the idea. When we were about to start heading back to the bus (yeah, sorry, you guys had to deal with my school) after it had stopped raining, we both kind of looked to the tower and saw the lights go up. We just turned and locked deer-in-headlights looks, and just turned and sprinted towards the ride. We kind of left our third friend standing there...sorry! We ended up walking right onto the yellow train. She had a blast! It was just the perfect moment. Then we walked towards the bathrooms, and I heard them playing a Cream song, which just can't be beat. We got back on the bus and actually had energy almost all the way back. She was exhausted all day, but not after getting on Wicked Twister twice then Dragster.

The rain was great. Every ride was a walk on all day. We seriously didn't wait for anything. We had some downtime during the downpour, but even then we just chilled out in the museum then the train. It was all alot of fun. All of us agreed that Skyhawk rocked, too. It certainly brought me to the back where I had never really been before.

You have a very intelligent friend.

The funniest thing on Saturday was that even with the rain being non stop from 5 till the end of the night, at 9 there were still people waiting in the Dragster station.
Oh and running a Maggie train with trims on and me and Jerry being the only ones on it was pretty fun too. Thought for second or two we'd have to get out and push.

Just remember that on a rainy day, sunglasses are your friend. Especially on Maggie or MF.

I wish I never would of lost of sunglasses before we got on MF. My eyes still sting.

Are the ponchos sold in the park reasonably priced? I don't even know if I'd wear them, but if they are overpriced, I'd consider purchasing one before we leave for Sandusky this Friday.

Purchase one before you go. There is a considerable mark up. I got one for $1.50 at meijers in the automotive section.

That's what I figured. I also figure it would come in handy during inclement weather. Especially if its only going to be in the 60's this coming weekend.
