Cedar Point Monorail?

The park has been around since 1870, thats 140 years. In those years, how many times has the park expanded? They opened up the midways to Frontier Town, I guess that was a major 'expansion' if you will. Other than that they have just used strategic maneuvers to add new attractions and I'm sure they will continue to do so.

**EDITED to change my brain fart. CP has been around since 1870, not 1867 (that would be Canada). Strange to think that my favourite amusement park is only 3 years younger than my country.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

And what happens if the Monorail breaks? CP closed for the day??

No. The keep the causeway and just run more busses or get bigger busses or trams instead. Something that could hold 200 people would be nice. Get about ten of those and have each one make about 5 trips an hour, you have a capacity of 10K people and hour if my math is right.

I like the idea of a ferry boat. Its a lot cheaper than a monorail.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Didn't they used to have a ferry way back in the day? Are boats really that much cheaper in the long run? I know monorails/light rails are expensive to construct, but wouldn't they be cheaper to operate/more efficient?

Yea, the boat you are thinking of was the G.A Beckling(sp). It brought people in from detroit and other areas.

With a monrail, you have electric and other obsticals to deal with.Look at all the problems thay had with the monorail at geauga lake.

With a boat/ ferry, it is run by steam or gas. It would be simple to build a dock on the mainland(I think that a dock still remains in downtown sandusky), and a dock near the marina or lighthouse point.

They use a boat at the Magic Kingdom as well- although they also have the Monorail option...

And the busses....and walking.

Goodbye MrScott

John

People are kissing their way to Cedar Point? Sounds a lot more interesting than the Chaussee.
