We got a cruiser and were ucky to get a slip on pier 12. There were just a couple of open slips in the entire Marina. This will be our 3rd weekend there and are absolutely loving it. Still getting familiar with our new weekend home but have to say the view is absolutely amazing.

Pete, I'll stop by for a beer sometime. Looking forward to getting to know our new neighbors.

Sadly, we won't make it up this year. It'll be the first year since probably 1996 that I haven't given Cedar Fair any money.

Jeff, you can always make a donation. I'm sure they'd accept it.

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant or whatever... But do you folks stay on your boats for extended periods? It sounds like these boats are being used like I use my camper what with marina shower houses & pools... If so, that's pretty cool.

We are also up on our boat 3-4 days a week, mostly weekends, but a few days after work for the evening. It helps that we are only a hour from the park.

Comments here have been right on target. We spend every weekend in the summer at the marina traveling over 2 hours each way. Have looked at Bay Point in Marblehead just because they seem to really care about their boaters but can't seem to pull away from CP.

I think we figured out why GL/WWK is closing for good...

Baypoint is a nice place. But it may seem a little dull after having the park just a few steps away.

We have submitted an application for dockage there next season. We have a 32' and hoping to get a spot. Right now we are in Bass Haven in Marblehead which is an awesome marina but we would love to be closer to the park. I used to vacation at Bay Point for years and can attest to the care they give their boaters. BTW if you're looking for cheap fuel and your near East Harbor you cannot beat the price at Bass Haven. We are going to be docking at the park on the weekend of 9/16 for Pointiest so that will be our first taste of CP marina life. Looking forward to it. I used to live in Cedars in 1995-1996 so it will be fun to have that vantage point again.

Why are there so many empty docks right now showing up on camera one? Are those for temporary use only when the park is open?

Those are transient docks and not permanent dock holders.

Ive been up at the marina today and its amazing how quiet the park is. Only thing Im hearing now is rehearsal for the Skeleton Crew show.

I like it when the park is quiet, its a nice change of pace. Also, It seams someone found Rougarou's howl switch. Its kinda cool being able to hear it again.

Yes, I was hearing Rougarou's howl all day, plus a coaster or two running occasionally. A much different feel when most everyone is gone.

Has anyone pulled up to the Marina with the "I'm on a Boat" song or "Boats and Hoes"

Please tell me someone's done it.

"Boats and Hoes" would be more appropriate when pulling up to the dock at Put-In-Bay. 😀 One of my favorite songs to listen to when driving to the boat at CP is Zac Brown "Where The Boat Leaves From".

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

There is a great mix of people at the marina. If you want a laid back crowd, you can find it. If you want the party crowd, you can find it too. Most adhere to the rules of the marina. But even those who don't seem not to go crazy about it.

How late in the year does your slip lease run? How late in the year would one WANT to be on a boat on Lake Erie? My boating experience is in the 1000 Islands region (St Lawrence River) and early October gets pretty chilly out on the water. Of course that's considerably further north...

I keep my boat at the slip until the first week of November. Last trip to the island is usually for Halloween at PIB.

We are coming out October 31. We are going to get the full season in before we hang it up. I have seen a couple of boats on our pier that have already come out for the season.

We do the same. Halloween at the bay and watching Ohio State Football on the boat or at the islands is the best.We don't leave until Bob kicks us out!
