Cedar Point Locker Procedure

I always wear shorts with large cargo pockets when I visit cedar point. Sometimes I bring my army poncho on the bad weather days, and I got a s-storm before entering the gatekeeper line. " What is in that pocket?", A poncho", I replied. "You need to rent a locker !" she demanded," No, the buttons are fastened, none of my articles are loose" I stated. She glared at me for ten seconds before stepping aside. I guess the hotel breakers renovation cost more than expected and cedar point is taking a harder bit on our rumps-wallets this year.

I rode Gatekeeper a few weeks ago.. It was a rainy Sunday evening. No line whatsoever, got to the station and we were to be on the next train after the one that was just pulling out. Hadn't even realized that I was carrying our souvenir cup, had meant to stash it inside my rain coat, but didn't get to since there was no waiting..

Anyways, the Ride Op saw it, said its not allowed..and to not bring it on the next ride, to get a locker. But, he had no issue whatsoever letting me put it in the bin while we rode.

Sometimes ride ops get a lick of in charge time and all of a sudden they want to play detective. It's none of anybody's business what's in my pocket.

I get my hand stamped at the marina gate and hide my stuff in the tree line on the bay beside the MF lift hill.

That's good to know.

Note to self: free stuff in tree line by the MF lift.

Wait, self: what if Ripped Tattoo has no taste?

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

I paid for the souvenir cup thinking that surely CP would have floating lockers like Dollywood last May. Nope. So far I've spent $6 to store my cup for 3 rides and since I also paid for the Fast Lane Plus I think my cup has spent a total of 30 minutes combined locked up. If I remember, Dollywood's floating lockers cost $6 for the entire day.

I think the lockers are fantastic. Great for capacity as well not having to deal with stuff in the station. $1 per hour is no problem at all and they are easily accessable We kept our items in the MF lockers all day yesterday. Since parks give out free water I don't get drink cups anymore especially since lots of soda + hours in the hot sun is a bad idea.

Why would you "surely" think that? Cedar Point has no connection to Dollywood whatsoever.

That's the sort of thing I'd check with the park I'm going to about.

And don't call me Shirley.

A few years ago the souvenir cups were 99 cents last day of the season. I bought one and when empty I was able to fit it in my cargo pocket.

My advice? Have a baby! They let us bring anything and everything in that baby-jogger, including a 3-course meal and no one ever takes a peek.

I disagree. If you think dealing with those drink cups they're pushing on you is hard enough, try storing a baby somewhere while you are riding.

This is a viable solution for the drink cup thread. I would pay $6 for this. Cedar Point is too big to rent one locker somewhere in the park for the entire day.

I just want the all season locker rental. Sort of like Funpix but for like $30. The max I will spend on lockers at any park all season is $6. I love lockers however because of the increased capacity. It makes me wonder how good Six Flags could be if they tried to hit good capacity. Gatekeeper is my 2nd favorite ride in the park because of the crew. It is always a walk on when I see it. I know it isn't because it is a bad ride because at Carowinds, I waited double the wait for Intimidator than for Fury 325 because of the operations. Max wait for Fury was around 10 -15 minutes at 4pm. Intimidator was 25-30 minutes and it is obviously a less superior ride.

SV ruins all other rides.

Question: I plan on going to the point tonight. It looks like there's a 50-80% chance of rain throughout the day. If I bring an umbrella, am I going to be forced to put it in a locker when going on a ride (if open) or haunt? Knowing the size of my umbrella, it will not fit. I've never really went to the park with one since I don't usually go when it's forecasted to rain. However, I'm a pass holder and want to mainly hit some haunted houses.
So.. are guests allowed to bring their umbrellas up to ride platforms and leave them near the foot lockers? I couldn't imagine them making you stash an umbrella and meanwhile get soaked in line.
Thanks!
